When you arrive on a Sunday morning, you'll receive a warm greeting at the door and directions to our auditorium where we hold our Worship Gathering. Our service lasts 75 minutes, where you can expect contemporary music, prayer, relevant and straightforward teaching from the Bible, and a truly welcoming sense of community. Glencairn is part of a larger collection of churches known as the Mennonite Brethren which has 100+ years of history. Our church is committed to carrying out the Great Commission, while living out the Great Commandment.

GOD DIDN'T CHOOSE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE GOOD

Jacob's story hands us a mirror. We read it to see ourselves in Jacob, to expose our own deceptive heart.

Examine your heart for a minute. How often do you resort to manipulation, control, or anxiety to get what God has already promised you?

God did not choose Jacob because he was good. God chose Jacob because God was good.

That same grace is what reached you. He didn't choose you because you're better than others. He chose you because God is full of grace, grace you didn't earn.

Our failures and our character flaws don't disqualify us from God's salvation or His blessing. He meets heel grabbers, liars, cheats, and self-serving manipulators, and He transforms us into people who hold on to Him and His promises.

WHY YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO DO LIFE ALONE

Doing life alone was never the plan. The church is a living, breathing family, and real relationships are what hold it together.

Paul described the church in 1 Timothy 3:15 as "the pillar and foundation of the truth." A building without a foundation crumbles when the storm hits, and so do we. Financial hardship, marriage problems, and health crises are far more likely to level us when we're standing alone.

You cannot fulfill your purpose in life in isolation. That's why small groups and honest community matter so much. Church actually happens when we gather, share our lives, care for each other, pray, and work through the issues of life together.

Most of us treat community like one more thing on an already full calendar. Being together is the essential reality of our relationship with God and with one another.

Peter put the command plainly in 1 Peter 2:17: "Love your spiritual family." We were never meant to carry life alone. God wants us to recognize how much we need one another.
