🕊️ St. Thomas Christians—also known as Nasranis—are one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, tracing their spiritual heritage to St. Thomas the Apostle, who is believed to have arrived in India around AD 52. Rooted in the southwestern state of Kerala, they embraced Syriac Christianity, blending Eastern liturgical traditions with Indian culture2.
The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, to which St. George Syro Malankara Catholic Church in Kitchener belongs, is part of this ancient lineage. It follows the West Syriac Rite and entered full communion with the Catholic Church in 1930, thanks to the reunion efforts led by Mar Ivanios4. This church preserves the rich liturgical, theological, and spiritual traditions of the Malankara heritage while being fully Catholic.

With hearts full of gratitude, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. George on Sunday, June 22, 2025. It was a blessed occasion marked by prayer, unity, and the powerful presence of our community.

We thank Almighty God for His abundant blessings and guidance throughout the celebration. A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us in person and in spirit—your prayers, support, and presence made this day truly special.
