We don’t always see people the way God sees them. In Luke 7, Simon the Pharisee sees a sinful woman defined by her past, while Jesus sees someone who has been forgiven and transformed. This story challenges us to reconsider how we judge others, how we evaluate ourselves, and what genuine holiness looks like. Rather than measuring people by their past mistakes or present imperfections, Jesus invites us to see them as works in progress, being shaped by God’s grace. We are all under construction, and the good news is that God is faithful to finish what he has begun.

Pride can be one of the hardest sins to recognize in ourselves, especially when it convinces us that we’re the ones who have everything figured out. In this sermon, we look at the Apostle Paul’s journey from Saul the Pharisee, whose religious pride led him to oppose Jesus, to Paul, who learned to embrace humility and even see his weaknesses as places where God’s power could be revealed. Through Paul’s conversion, his years on the sidelines, and his struggle with a “thorn in the flesh,” we discover that God can use even our failures, limitations, and difficult seasons to reshape us. Following Jesus means learning that we don’t have to be the hero of the story. Instead, we can humbly trust God, depend on his grace, and walk by faith even when we cannot see what he is doing.

We have been having so much fun this week learning that when we wonder, we can trust Jesus; when we feel alone, we can trust Jesus; when we feel powerless, we can trust Jesus; and when we need hope, we can trust Jesus.

We have learned about some of the wonderful creatures God has created in the North such as otters, king crab, bears, and eagles. We have made compasses, crystals, bridges, northern lights, and had a glow party.

It's hard to believe tomorrow is our last day!

In this message from our Epic Meltdown series, we explore how fear repeatedly led the apostle Peter to fail, from rebuking Jesus to denying him to remaining silent when the truth needed defending. Yet Peter’s story doesn’t end in failure. Through God’s grace, he learned to trust instead of fear, eventually becoming a courageous leader who stood firm even at the cost of his own life. This sermon invites us to examine the ways fear shapes our own decisions and challenges us to discover how prayer, faith, and the hope of the resurrection can transform us into people who trust God even when the future feels uncertain.
