The Woodlands returns September 6! 🌳

This monthly online spiritual community is beginning a new season of connection, care, joy, and rest for trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit, gender-expansive, intersex, gender-blessed, and gender non-conforming people—and those who love them.

And this year, The Woodlands is growing. We’re excited to introduce Sweetgums, a new dedicated space for the partners and spouses of trans people, alongside small community groups for trans youth and adults, parents, caregivers, and families.

Rooted in Unitarian Universalist values, The Woodlands offers a space where trans lives are not up for debate or explanation, but are honored as sacred, whole, and worthy of care.

Monthly gatherings resume September 6 at 5 p.m. Eastern / 2 p.m. Pacific.

In a world that often urges us to focus only on problems to solve, Unitarian Universalism invites us to remember that we—and this world—are always more than what is immediately visible.

This week, may we approach one another, our communities, and ourselves with curiosity instead of certainty. May we trust that even the smallest light can reveal new paths forward.

"We kindle light, and with it, possibility."

I don’t believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is vertical, so it’s humiliating. It goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other and learns from the other. I have a lot to learn from other people.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Olinda held a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, June 28th, 2026. At that meeting we voted overwhelmingly to call Rev. Paul Langston-Daley as our settled minister. He has been serving Olinda as a contract minister. He accepted the call which was met with a standing ovation and much joy!! The congregation also voted to replace the clavinova and to undertake an engineering assessment of our 145 year old building. Joyful news as we continue our long history of the little church at the crossroads spreading the word that love is a positive force for good.
