Erbs Cove Baptist Church We are a small community that combines a modern message with a traditional order of service. Our little church is located on the shores of the Belleisle Bay.

We love congregational singing and old hymns, and we celebrate them in our worship every Sunday.

Continuing our series on "Making Sense of Life", we will turn our attention from the challenges of belief to the greatness of God, both as a theological concept and in reference to a loving Creator. We will try to recognize, respond and recapture the Biblical claims that our God is indeed, "A Great God!" The Scripture reading will be from Psalm 95:1-7.

Our Service this week will also feature many of the great old hymns of thanksgiving that add so much to our celebration of this special day gratitude.

This week, Rev Thompson will be preaching from the second chapter of Galatians, in a classic defense of Christian doctrine. This approach, commonly called "apologetics", has its origins in the early church. Join us this week to experience this long-standing rhetorical approach to theology and faith.

Does it matter what you believe, or even whether you believe at all? Is there any purpose or place for a Christian belief system in our world? Does belief make any difference? The Bible makes some simple but very relevant and strong claims concerning these questions, which we'll explore together this week! Scripture reading will be from Isaiah 43:1-5, and Luke 12:16-22.

Our homes can be a haven of rest, refreshing and blessing to believers and a light to those who are yet strangers to God's saving grace. This Sunday we will explore the blessings and benefits of sharing our homes and lives with others! We will study Romans 12:1-13 and 1 Peter 4:7-11 together, and of course, sing some great hymns.

This Sunday will be Rev. Steve Hiltz's last week guest-preaching for us, as Rev. Thompson's vacation wraps up and he returns next Sunday. It's been a blessing to have Rev. Hiltz with us these past weeks!

No Arms - No Legs - Big Heart!
Sunday, August 16th, 10:30am

When life appears to deal us nothing but sour lemons, can God really help us make lemonade? Holy Scripture may just have the recipe. Come and taste what God offers and discover that it can be very good indeed.

Rev Thompson will be preaching from Matthew 14:22-32 this week. All are welcome!

We tend to place self-interest at the centre of our lives. Scripture makes it very clear that, in reality, it is God who is the centre of everything, and we must deepen our relationship with our Creator in order to find joy, contentment and peace. This week, Rev Thompson will preach from Luke 17, exploring how differently the ten lepers responded to Jesus's healing power.

Our society is obsessed with "mountaintop experiences" of various kinds and spends a great deal of time, money and effort in searching for them. The Christian Church reminds us, through God's Word, that life's greatest experiences may be found in the valleys. This week we will read Psalm 23, and remember how our God is the God of the valleys, as well.
