This Sunday, we will be looking at a unique passage of Scripture that speaks out against sexism, racism and discrimination, and also reveals, through humour, God's plan for the redemption of all mankind. Modern evangelism and mission have their beginnings in this perplexing passage of Scripture. All are welcome for this lesson from Matthew 15:21-28, and the singing of old hymns, in our little church on the bay.

This week, Rev Thompson will be reflecting on how a musical shepherd became a mighty soldier, a majestic king, and a man after God's own heart when he discovered the truth contained in the song without an end. During our Sunday morning services, children have the opportunity to partake in Junior Church. This year, we started a new curriculum that will take the children through the major events of the entire Bible in two years.

Each week the children are given a memory verse to try to learn during the week and can also follow along with the Bible readings at home. They will learn more about the readings and enjoy fun and interactive activities each Sunday.

We live in a culture that is obsessed with the pursuit of personal liberty and freedom. However, it often devolves into an endless journey towards gratuitous self-interest. The Bible speaks eloquently about the pursuit of freedom and provides five keys necessary for finding it. However, the means by which the Bible suggests freedom can be obtained may prove very surprising! This week, Rev Thompson will preach on this paradox, using Luke 19: 1-10.

In what may seem an odd juxtaposition, this Sunday Rev. Thompson will examine two unforgettable charges by horse. One, by a hopelessly small British Cavalry Unit in 1855 and the second, by a gallant commander and His followers over 2,000 years ago. Alfred Lord Tennyson and the Gospels of Matthew and John will reveal much about these significant events.

As we stand on the brink of the Celebration of Easter, we must face the crucifixion of Jesus. Why did it all happen? Was it necessary for Jesus to die such a cruel and demeaning death, and how did He feel about it? Why did God allow such a thing to happen? We will use Romans 5:1-11 as a lens on these questions as we worship together this week.

With expanded war breaking out around the globe, you may have questions about the end of the world. God has chosen not to reveal all to us concerning this subject, and to some degree, the questions posed are unanswerable. However, Scripture does shed some light on the subject that can be a comfort and guide to us. We will examine the Second Epistle of Peter together and weigh God's directions to be ever-ready, yet not fatalistic, in the face of global crisis.
