We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Brother Baba Shokouri, father of brother Kefayatullah Amaqi and Obaidullah Shokouri, in Kingston.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’oon

May Allah (SWT) grant him Maghfirah, let His Rahmah descend upon his soul, expand and illuminate his grave, and raise him to Jannat-ul-Firdous. Ameen.

May Allah (SWT) grant comfort, strength, and sabr to his family and loved ones. Ameen. Please keep him and his family in your duas inshaAllah.

The janazah prayer for Marhoom Baba Shokouri will be tomorrow, June 10, after dhur prayer (1:30PM) at the Islamic Centre of Kingston. Followed by the burial at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, inshaAllah. We encourage all community members to attend.

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Brother Bazlur Rehman Khan Survery — husband of Shakila Qamar Survery and father of Shamila, Osama, Burhan and Zaineb — in Toronto.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’oon

Brother Bazlur and his family were long time Kingston residents, and he was a former treasurer for ISK.

May Allah (SWT) grant him Maghfirah, let His Rahmah descend upon his soul, expand and illuminate his grave, and raise him to Jannat-ul-Firdous. Ameen.

May Allah (SWT) grant comfort, strength, and sabr to his family and loved ones. Ameen. Please keep him and his family in your duas inshaAllah.

Janazah prayer will be held on Tuesday, June 9 in Hamilton Mountain Masjid, Insha Allah, following Dhur prayer at 1:30PM. Burial will follow at 700 Chapel Hill Road, Hamilton, ON, plot 304.

We are saddened to inform you that Sr. Rashida Akhtar — older sister of Sr. Nusrat Fahim (Tuli) and sister-in-law of Br. Fahim Quadir— passed away today in Bangladesh. She was suffering from severe health issues.

Inna lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’oon

May Allah SWT grant her Maghfirah, expand and illuminate her grave and raise her up to Jannat-ul-Ferdous. May Allah SWT grant the family sabr, strength and comfort during this time.

Eid prayers
Eid-ul-Adha is confirmed to take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, inshaAllah.

This year, the Islamic Centre of Kingston will be offering three Eid prayer times:

🕢 7:30 a.m.

🕘 9:00 a.m.

🕥 10:30 a.m.

📍 Islamic Centre of Kingston, 1477 Sydenham Rd.

Additional Eid prayer locations across the city will also be announced in the coming days, insha’Allah.
Eid Shuttle Service – Kingston Transit
Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to the City of Kingston and Kingston Transit for once again offering shuttle service for Eid prayers this year.

We strongly encourage community members to make use of this service to help reduce parking congestion at the masjid. Many community members who used the shuttle previously shared very positive feedback about how convenient and easy it made attending Eid prayers.

• 7:15 AM – Arrive at ISK (for the 7:30 AM prayer)

• 8:45 AM – Arrive at ISK (for the 9:00 AM prayer)

• Bus waits at ISK from 8:45 AM – 9:40 AM

• 10:00 AM – Depart Kingston Centre to ISK

• 10:15 AM – Arrive at ISK (for the 10:30 AM prayer)

• Bus waits at ISK from 10:15 AM – 11:50 AM
