TITLE: SERVING OTHERS IN CHRIST ALONE
TEXT: Hebrews 13:1-25
This is our last week in the book of Hebrews. The series is called In Christ Alone because the emphasis of the book of Hebrews is that everything we need in the spiritual life is found in Christ alone. So in chapter 13, after pages and pages of deep theology, the writer reminds us that the Christian life is best expressed in how we treat others. This is the idea we'll look at more closely today. The writer of Hebrews calls us to develop three qualities or three characteristics that will provide a foundation for our relationships with one another, and for our relationship with God.

TITLE: WINNING THE BATTLE AGAINST HABITUAL SIN
TEXT: Hebrews 12:1-29
We're in the home stretch of our series; just two chapters remain. The focus throughout the book of Hebrews has been on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins, and to give us open access into the presence of God. So, many people wonder, what happens when we sin? If all of our sins are forgiven, can we just sin all we want? As we have seen in previous weeks the short answer is, "No."
The long answer -- well, that's what this sermon is all about today. We'll talk about how we should deal with our sin and how God will deal with our sin. We’ll look at three exhortations or three encouragements in regard to dealing with sin. You can have victory.

TITLE: WHAT FAITH CAN DO
TEXT: Hebrews 11:1-39
Today we'll look at one of the most popular chapters in Scripture. Hebrews 11 is called the Hall of Faith. We have been going through the book of Hebrews for the last couple of months. The theme is "In Christ Alone." The life that we live in God, we live in Christ alone. You don't earn your salvation. You never can, you never will. If you want to be right with God, then God has made a way for this to happen. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die on the cross for your sins. We receive salvation by faith. The author tells us what faith is and he tells us what it does. He defines faith and then he describes faith. He tells us what faith looks like in action. Today we'll look at three truths about faith.

TITLE: THE POWER OF ONCE AND FOR ALL
TEXT: Hebrews 10:1-39
The series is called In Christ Alone which really is the focus of the book of Hebrews, that everything we need in life, everything we really need, is available in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What Hebrews 10 tells us is that, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is a once and for all event. The problem with sin has been settled, once and for all. Your need for forgiveness has been settled, once and for all. Your guilt and your shame and your regret has been settled, once and for all. Today we're going to talk about what this "once and for all" really means, and we'll see three ways it applies to our lives.

TITLE: WHY JESUS HAD TO DIE
TEXT: Hebrews 9:1-27
Last week I talked about the New Covenant and that it is a better covenant built on better promises, meaning that we have access to God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His death pays the price for our sins and opens the door to our relationship with God. Here are some questions I have heard many times… "Why should God require a sacrifice for sins? Why can't he just wave them off and forgive us of his own volition? Why does he need the blood of his Son to forgive me?" Why did Jesus have to Die? Join us as we seek to answer these questions today.

SERIES: IN CHRIST ALONE
TITLE: GOD'S NEW COVENANT WITH HIS PEOPLE
TEXT: Hebrews 8:1-13
The writer of Hebrews has been telling us about a new Covenant God has made to his people through Jesus and his sacrifice. He is our perfect high priest who lives forever and now intercedes for you – going before the Father on your behalf. In other words, he's your representative. He takes care of you, he stands up for you, he looks out for you. Today we'll look at this New Covenant, the covenant that God has extended to all people everywhere. It is intended to be your covenant with God. It is intended to describe how you relate to him in your day-to-day life. In the previous messages I mentioned the name of a mysterious High Priest called Melchizedek. Today we will learn a little more about him, and why the writer of Hebrews highlights him in relation to Jesus.

Today we're in chapter 5 of Hebrews which tells us about Jesus our High Priest. It also shows us what a life lived right looks like. It shows how Jesus fulfilled his purpose on earth, in becoming our high priest, and it shows how you can fulfill your purpose on earth by following his example. Today, I want to show you how you can achieve your full potential in God by following his example.

TITLE: A RESTED DEVELOPMENT
TEXT: Hebrews 4:1-16
Last week we saw that if we hold fast to Jesus and keep our hearts in the right place, and encourage one another, we can enter into a special "place of rest" that God has prepared for us. Today we’ll see that Hebrews 4 is all about entering into the rest of God — that special place in the presence of God in which we’ll experience the abundant life, the best possible life that we can experience this side of heaven.
