Jummah Reminder - Safeguard The Tongue

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported:
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,“When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all of his limbs defer to the tongue, saying: Fear Allah regarding us, for we are only a part of you. If you are upright, we are upright. If you are crooked, we are crooked.”

Jummah Reminder - Establish Something Good

Abu Huraira reported: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he encouraged others to give charity to him. One man said, “I have something,” and no man remained in the gathering without giving him some charity, great or small.
The Prophet said, “Whoever establishes a good precedent for others will earn its reward completely as well as the rewards of those who followed it, without decreasing any of their rewards at all. Whoever establishes an evil precedent for others will earn its burden of sin completely as well as the burdens of those who followed it, without decreasing any of their burdens at all.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَثَّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدِي كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَمَا بَقِيَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ رَجُلٌ إِلَّا تَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِ بِمَا قَلَّ أَوْ كَثُرَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنِ اسْتَنَّ خَيْرًا فَاسْتُنَّ بِهِ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ كَامِلًا وَمِنْ أُجُورِ مَنِ اسْتَنَّ بِهِ وَلَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا وَمَنِ اسْتَنَّ سُنَّةً سَيِّئَةً فَاسْتُنَّ بِهِ فَعَلَيْهِ وِزْرُهُ كَامِلًا وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ الَّذِي اسْتَنَّ بِهِ وَلَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئًا

Jummah Reminder - Swift In Forgiveness

Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Allah said: O son of Adam, if you remember Me within yourself, I will remember you within Myself. If you remember Me in a gathering, I will remember you in a gathering of angels. If you come near to Me by a handspan, I will come near to you by an arm’s length. If you come near to Me by an arm’s length, I will come near to you by the length of a fathom. If you come to Me walking, I will come to you running.”
Qatadah said, “Surely, Allah Almighty is the quickest to forgive.”

Jummah Reminder - Palace In Paradise

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ "‏ مَنْ تَرَكَ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ بَاطِلٌ بُنِيَ لَهُ قَصْرٌ فِي رَبَضِ الْجَنَّةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ الْمِرَاءَ وَهُوَ مُحِقٌّ بُنِيَ لَهُ فِي وَسَطِهَا وَمَنْ حَسَّنَ خُلُقَهُ بُنِيَ لَهُ فِي أَعْلاَهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Ans bin Malik said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever gives up telling lies in support of a false claim, a palace will be built for him in the outskirts of Paradise. Whoever gives up argument when he is in the right, a palace will be built from him in the middle (of Paradise). And whoever had good behavior, a palace will be built for him in the highest reaches (of Paradise).'"

“Shall I not tell you upon whom the Hellfire is forbidden tomorrow? It is everyone gentle, lenient, accessible, and easy-going.”

Jummah Reminder - Ask For Afiyah

Al-‘Abbas reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me something to ask Allah Almighty.”The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Ask Allah for wellness.” I waited for some days, then I came back, saying, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me something.” The Prophet said to me, “O ‘Abbas! O uncle of the Messenger of Allah! Ask Allah for wellness in the world and the Hereafter.”

Jummah Reminder - None Of You Have Faith

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “None of you will have faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 13, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 45

Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim

Imam al-Nawawi commented, “It is preferred to interpret this in the general sense of brotherhood, so that it includes both unbelievers and Muslims. Thus, one should love for his unbelieving brother what he loves for himself, namely that he enter into Islam, just as he loves for his Muslim brother to remain steadfast in Islam. For this reason, supplicating for the guidance of an unbeliever is recommended. The word ‘love’ here means the intention to do good and benefit them, which is religious love and not natural human love.”

قال النووي الأولى أن يحمل ذلك على عموم الأخوة حتى يشمل الكافر والمسلم فيحب لأخيه الكافر ما يحب لنفسه من دخوله في الإسلام كما يحب لأخيه المسلم دوامه على الإسلام ولهذا كان الدعاء بالهداية للكافر مستحبا والمراد بالمحبة إرادة الخير والمنفعة ثم المراد المحبة الدينية لا المحبة البشرية

Jummah Reminder - The Best Of People

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: It was said to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “Who are the best of people? ”The Prophet said, “Everyone with a heart swept clean and a truthful tongue.” They said, “We understand a truthful tongue, but what is a heart swept clean?” The Prophet said, “It is Godfearing and pure without sin inside it, neither aggression, nor rancor, nor envy.”

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim commented, “A pure heart is free from idolatry, rancor, malice, envy, miserliness, arrogance, love of this world, and love of leadership. It is thus free from every affliction that distances one from Allah, free from every doubt that contradicts His message, free from every desire that opposes His command, free from every want that competes with His will, and free from everything that could cut one off from Allah. This is the pure heart in a paradise preceding in the world, in a paradise between worlds, and in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.”
