As many of you will know, the City of Kimberley is currently under an evacuation alert due to the nearby wildfires. We want to let you know that, unless we hear otherwise from local authorities, all church services, ministries, and meetings will continue as normal.

Our Canadian Foursquare Disaster Relief team is in contact with the Regional District of East Kootenay to stay informed about any opportunities to assist our community. We have local representatives of the disaster relief team in our congregation, in the wider region and nationally that are all involved and ready to respond. At this stage there are no specific ways for us to help, but when a need arises we are ready to respond together as a church. If you become aware of anyone in our community who has practical needs, please let us know.

Please join us in praying for everyone affected by the evacuation alert, for those who are feeling anxious or uncertain, for the firefighters and emergency personnel, and for local businesses that may be impacted.

Join us on Sunday, July 12th at 10:00 AM for a morning of worship and fellowship together. We will be meeting at Wycliffe Regional Park, over in Area 2 under the covered gazebo.

We are also planning to stay for lunch right after the service. We would love for you to join us, and if you are able, please bring along a salad or a dessert to share with the group.

There is no service in Kimberley this coming Sunday, we are joining with other churches in Cranbrook at key city theatre at 10am. There will be a pancake breakfast provided before hand. We hope to see you there!

At Summit Church, we are beginning a new sermon series called When the Spirit Forms a People. This series will explore how the Holy Spirit forms us into a distinct, Christ-centred community, not just as individuals, but as a people who reflect God’s heart to the world. Together, we will look at the stories of the New Testament and ask what kind of church the Spirit is still shaping us to become today.

We would love for you to join us on Sundays as we seek God, listen for His voice, and allow the Spirit to shape our lives, our relationships and our future as a church.
