Please join us in praying for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 🙏🇨🇩

As communities face the impact of a growing Ebola outbreak, our partner CBCA is responding with an emergency plan to support vulnerable families and communities.

Pray for healing, protection, and comfort for those affected, wisdom and strength for healthcare workers, and endurance for our CBCA brothers and sisters as they serve during this difficult time.

This Sunday, May 24, at 11:00 am, please join us as we continue our sermon series on the book of 1 Peter. Stephen Njoroge will be our speaker and, as always, there will be music, prayer, and a fellowship time afterwards. You can join us in person or on YouTube.

Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Stephen Njoroge is a Pastor with Africa Inland Church, an affiliate denomination of Africa Inland Mission International in the USA. Before joining the clergy, Stephen served as a Teaching Elder and church leader. He has an academic background in Anthropology and additional training in Project Planning and Management. Professionally, he is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® with extensive experience in community development programs.

As a church minister, Stephen holds a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Taylor Theological Seminary (Alberta) and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Acadia Divinity College. As part of his studies, he was one of two Mentored Ministry Students in our church. He begins his role as pastor of Morristown Baptist Church this June. (Congratulations, Stephen!)

Stephen is happily married to Lucy, and they have been blessed with three wonderful young adult children: Kelvin, Grace, and Prince.

Stephen warmly says, “Shalom!” to all.

Students have long been a very special part of Canaan Baptist Church, whether attending, taking part in services, or doing their Mentored Ministry time with us. This past Sunday, May 17, we honoured this year's graduates and students who have graduated in previous years by presenting them each with a special mug by which to remember us. There is a picture of the church on it as well as the verse "All God's people here send their greetings. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." (2 Corinthians 13: 13-14) We were joined by a member of the ADC class of 1983, Pastor Moses, who prayed a blessing over the graduates on our behalf. (Thank you to Vickie & Randy Dawe for the photos.)

The BWA joins with Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) and the National Council of Baptist Churches in India (NCBCI) in grieving, praying, and calling for just peace in Manipur.

Today the worldwide Baptist family together with Baptists in India grieve the tragic deaths of Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, the former General Secretary of Manipur Baptist Convention and present President of the Thadou Baptist Association India (TBAI); Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, the Secretary of Finance, Youth and Music Department of TBAI; and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou. We continue to pray for the other leaders of TBAI who were critically injured in an ambush while traveling home after a Baptist gathering in Churachandpur, Manipur.

To view the full joint statement, visit baptistworld.org/standing-with-manipur and unite with us in prayer for peace.
