Spread the word……

We wake into a world
already held by God.

Before we’ve chosen our words,
before the lists start forming in our heads,
before confidence or doubt gets a say,
love has already spoken.

You’re mine.

Belonging isn’t a reward
for faith done well.
It isn’t something we grow into
once we’ve learned the rules
or said the right prayers.

It’s the starting place.

Like water poured freely,
like a name spoken over us
again and again,
even when we forget it ourselves.

From here,
from this deep grounding of grace,
we step into the day
not trying to earn God’s love
but learning how to live
as people who already have it.

There's paths that feel washed out
and places in us
that look too tangled for hope.
We stand in the wilderness
unsure where to step next
unsure if God can find us here.

But Advent speaks into the wild places
and says a way is being made.
Not by our strength
not by our planning
but by God clearing space
where we thought there was none.

A voice rises in the quiet
calling us to lift our heads
calling us to watch for the One
who gathers the scattered
and carries the weary close.

He comes with gentleness
strong enough to comfort
tender enough to heal.
He holds what trembles.
He guides what falters.
He gathers us in
the way a shepherd lifts a lamb
close to his heart.

And the rough ground begins to soften.
The valleys steady.
The hills ease their height.
Not all at once
but enough for us to see
that God is moving toward us
with kindness and light.

So we light another small flame
right in the middle of our wilderness
and dare to believe
that every step we take
is already held
by the God who comes close.
