On Sunday April 26, at 10:00am, the St. Columba congregation will hold a service of Holy Communion, led by the Reverend Susan Anholt. This Sunday we find Jesus is discussing sheep and pens. So, here is what I decided. Sheep follow the shepherd because they are smart. They know that they are cared for and protected. They trust and follow. And over time, the sheep become ‘one’ with the shepherd, listening and living according to his plan for us. Remember, all are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

Today is April 22, which is Earth Day! If you want to help out our earth (and Kenaston Community) pick up a garbage bag from St. Columba's front step and pick garbage! Yes..., we know it is supposed to snow but next week is never too late!

On Sunday, April 19, at 10:00am, the St. Columba congregation will celebrate a service of Morning Prayer led by one of our amazing lay leaders. This Sunday we find Jesus on the road to Emmaus. In all this, we have seen a lot, but apparently not really seen! What next? As I read the chapter entitled ‘Walk to Emmaus,’ I see that the teacher has returned to make all the linkages and open their eyes! Jesus walks with his people, as he walked on the road to Emmaus; even though like those disciples, our eyes may be “kept from recognizing him”. Notably it is still Jesus who draws near, not us drawing near! While we think it is all on us, it is God who calls us! All are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

On Sunday April 12, at 10:00am, the St Columba congregation will hold a service of Holy Communion, led by the Reverend Susan Anholt. On this Second Sunday of Easter, we can thank God that Jesus came into the middle of that room full of disciples. We can thank God that Jesus breathed on them the Holy Spirit so that they would have the Comforter to whisper the truth of things to them again and again and again. And we can thank God that the Holy Spirit was given to them so that they could forgive. All are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

Our Good Friday service will be held in conjunction with the Roman Catholic Parish in Kenaston at 3pm.

On Good Friday (April 3), St. Columba will join with the St. Andrews Roman Catholic Parish in Kenaston for a Good Friday service at 3pm at the RC Church. On Easter Sunday (April 5), our worship at St. Columba will take place at 11:30am. This will accommodate the 9:30am service for the congregation at St. Mark's in Outlook. Feel welcome to join whichever service suits your Easter Sunday schedule.
