Who is with us this Sunday?
Freedom’s Door will join us as one of our mission partners. Our preacher will be Tom Smithwick, one of the founders
of this beautiful mission helping men seek recovery and renovation from life on the streets.
Tom is the recipient of the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award. My experience of Tom is one of complete
respect and appreciation. He is tall in stature and especially humble in service. Tom is a living icon of Christ, drawing
from a divine reservoir of generosity and grace.
He will be joined by a Freedom’s Door resident who will share a testimony of the Lord’s faithfulness and mercy. Tom
will preach on Luke 16:19–31.
Join us at 10:00 a.m.!

Last week we continued our series on the Minor League Prophets (MLP) with Jonah 2, and the prophet's psalm. Jonah prayed his way out of disaster and despair because the Lord heard the run away prophet and showed mercy. I bet you've had a pit in your stomach and found yourself in a pit but turned to the Lord and saw a way through at least once or twice in your life. Salvation belongs to the Lord!

Jonah was hurled into the sea, hurled onto dry land and now he is hurled into a great city. He takes the Lord's message for the Ninevites. This is the second time he's received the message and this time the missionary prophet goes in the right direction. Jonah had a major change of heart towards the Ninevites, to whom he previously had no affection.

Join us this Sunday at 10:00a.m. for Jonah 3

July and August service changes: For the next six weeks there are several changes:

1) Shorter Services: We will have a rhythm of Morning Prayer and Holy Communion, every other week, as we shorten our liturgies.

2) Sermon Series: "MLP." You've heard of Major League Baseball (MLB), which is the goal of Minor League Baseball but more importantly this summer at Resurrection Anglican Church, we are focusing on Minor League Prophets. Often neglected from the pulpit of our churches, we will focus not on all 12 minor prophets this summer, but on three.

3) After 6 weeks of MLP, we will have a Missions Sunday on August 23 with Tom Smithwick of Freedom's Door. Freedom's Door is one of our mission partners, and 4 times a year we feature one of our mission partners at our Sunday morning service.

The first Minor League Prophet is Obadiah. It's an easy read because it's only 21 verses but a hard read because prophets comfort the disturbed but disturb the comfortable.
Please join us at 10:00 a.m.

How did you celebrate Canada Day this week? This Sunday will be unique for us at Resurrection Anglican Church because we will give thanks to the King of all heaven and earth for our dominion and for those who serve us federally, provincially and locally. Padre Tim Schroeder will deliver a message of gratitude and an invitation to serve, loving both God and one another. Our public servants (Mayor Dyas, Councilors Ron Cannan and Maxine DeHart, Stephen Fuhr, MLA, along with others) will also attend the service as we recognize them for offering their time and talent. Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans that God placed them in their positions because his will and grace are sovereign.
Please join us at 10a.m.

This Sunday is the final Sunday of our sermon series, "Thy Kingdom Come."The sermon title this Sunday is "Astonishing Authority." The greatest sermon ever preached, not mine but Jesus', ends with a powerful spiritual punch. We will recognize the authoring of our Lord through the Son's work, the Father's will, and the Spirit's wisdom. The Christian life isn't an easy religion; it's a unique faith because of Jesus' teaching and training of his disciples who dare to trust in him. Join us at 10:00a.m.

This Sunday Ken Light will preach from Matthew 6:19-34 as we approach the end of our sermon series on Matthew 1 - 7 including the Sermon on the Mount.

Will you pray this prayer in preparation for our worship this Sunday please?

O LORD, we beseech you mercifully to hear us; and grant that we,
to whom you have given a hearty desire to pray and praise you,
will receive defense and comfort
in all dangers and adversities by your mighty aid;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
