THE NEXT REFORMATION
(Re)introducing us to the hope of a Christ-centred faith.
It’s October, and this week we’re starting a new series: The Next Reformation.
About every 500 years, the Church experiences a major shift. In 1517, Martin Luther’s 95 Theses helped spark the Protestant Reformation — helped along by the newly invented printing press. You could say Luther was the first person to go viral.
500 years later, many believe we may be approaching another reformation.
Not one that reinvents the Church, but one that brings us back to Jesus.
Because there are many people have said they are done with cherish. They have deconstructed their faith. They have walked away from the Church because of anger, division, abuse, power, and Christian nationalism. And really, can you blame them?
But here’s the thing:
Most people who deconstruct and say they are done with the church are not necessarily done with Jesus.
Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll explore what it might look like for the Church to become more like Jesus — to look, feel, and act more like the person we follow.
The Next Reformation (series) starts this Sunday.
We aren’t claiming to be starting a reformation!
After each teaching session we will have plenty of time to discuss some of the questions that might arise.
