This Sunday, we’re beginning a brand-new series:

Hearing God: Conversations with the Divine

Inspired by Dallas Willard’s book Hearing God, we’ll explore one of the great paradoxes of the Christian life: we believe God speaks, yet many of us struggle to recognize His voice.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll wrestle with questions like:

• Does God still speak today?
• How do we hear God’s voice?
• How do we distinguish God’s voice from our own thoughts?
• What do we do when God seems silent?

Whether you’re confident you’ve heard from God before, unsure what to think, or simply curious, we’d love for you to join us.

🗓️ This Sunday
🕙 10:00 AM
📍 228 Valley Road, Kelowna

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and discover what it might look like to live in continual conversation with God.

This weekend is extra special at Valley Road.

Not only is it Mother’s Day, but we also have a guest speaker joining us, and I’m genuinely excited for you to hear from her.

Kelly Lamb will be sharing on the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, looking at four aspects of her life:

• Mary as God-bearer
• Mary as a midwife
• Mary as a guide
• Mary as a mother who grieves

Through it all, Mary continues to hold Jesus at the very centre of her life.

No matter where you are coming from or what season of life you are in, I think there is real encouragement to be found in the life of Mary.

Come ready to encourage one another and be encouraged.

And of course… there will be cheesecake after the service.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Hands in Service is looking for 5 drivers to help deliver Living Salads to people in our community who need them most.

What are Living Salads?
In partnership with Helen’s Acres, the Central Okanagan Food Bank, and School District 23, Hands in Service delivers up to 450 salad planters each year. Each one is designed to grow fresh, seasonal food all summer long—supporting dignity, sustainability, and real needs in our community.

These planters go to organizations like Mamas for Mamas, Seniors Outreach, KCR, and more—helping those facing food insecurity or mobility challenges access fresh food right at home.

This is a simple, meaningful way to make a real difference.

Can you help?
We need 5 drivers by tomorrow to make these deliveries happen.

Today is Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent.

Today is a day that Christians are reminded of our beginnings and our need for grace.

We don’t begin Lent by asserting our strength, but remembering our need for the Strength of God.

We mark Lent by reflecting on our ultimate need for God’s love to guide rather than relying on our own strength to sustain us.

Perhaps take some time this week to read through the Temptation of Christ, reflecting on the reliance he had on the father rather than taking the easier road offered to him.

This Sunday at Valley Road: Faith, Doubt, and the Problem with Certainty

Last week we began our new series, Letters from a Skeptic, and this Sunday we continue the conversation by exploring faith, doubt, and our deep attachment to certainty.

For many of us, faith has been presented as having all the right answers and holding them with confidence. But what if certainty isn’t the goal of faith? What if Scripture invites us into something deeper—trust, relationship, and perseverance, even when questions remain?

This week, we’ll look at Hebrews 11 and the long, honest journey of faith found throughout Scripture, including the story of Job—a man who refused easy answers and was commended by God not for his certainty, but for his honesty. We’ll explore why doubt doesn’t disqualify us from faith, how clinging too tightly to certainty can actually be harmful, and what it looks like to build a faith centred on Jesus rather than on having everything figured out.

If you’ve ever felt unsure, stuck, or hesitant to ask hard questions in church—or if you’ve felt confident but want to learn how to hold that confidence with humility—this conversation is for you. Wherever you find yourself, you’re welcome here.

New Series | Starting January 18
Sunday’s at 10am
228 Valley Road.

Letters From a Skeptic.

Over the next number of weeks we will be diving into the deep end of some difficult questions that people have been asking about Christianity for centuries:

Is God to blame? Does God know the future? Why do we suffer?

Our goal for this series will not be to chase quick answers, but to engage in meaningful conversation, deeper understanding, and a see a faith that ultimately inspires hope.

Please consider joining us for this series!
