We had our warp dyeing day a couple Fridays ago, and it was a small turnout of only three. This was partly due to the fact that some folks could not attend after the event was rescheduled due to smoky skies and hot weather. We ended up having clear, sunny skies and a very comfortable temperature on the new date.

We dyed painted warps of cotton and tencel and some small cotton handkerchiefs.

Flannery suggested that we add a urea solution to some of the dyes so we tried that. Flannery also tried warp dyeing in jars (with mixed colours) which seemed to work well and gave more blended colours.
Susan painted a warp which was a mixture of different cotton fibres and a bit of linen, in yellow, red, and pink. The mixed yarn types should yield a very interesting woven piece.
Sandra painted a tencel warp and painted some skeins of the Bangladesh cotton to be used tripled as weft (in blue, green and purple).
