Week 5: When the Noise Stops

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

We live in a world that never seems to slow down. Between work, family, responsibilities, notifications, and the constant noise around us, it can be difficult to find a quiet moment to simply be with God. But what happens when the noise stops?

This Sunday, we continue our Back to the Basics: At the Feet of Jesus series as we explore the spiritual disciplines of silence and solitude.

We’ll discover why stepping away from the distractions of life isn't about running away from the world, but making room to draw closer to our Heavenly Father.

Sometimes, we need to stop talking, stop striving, and stop reacting long enough to listen, reflect, and remember who God is. Because before we can become like Jesus, we must learn to be with Jesus.

Bring your Bible, bring a friend, and come ready to spend time in God's presence. We look forward to seeing you!

This Sunday, we’re doing something a little different, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

We’re making space to share what we’re thankful for, where we see God working in our lives, and how He’s moving in the lives of our friends and family.

We’ll also share a special Thanksgiving message as we reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness, followed by a turkey potluck lunch!

BACK TO THE BASICS
WEEK 4: PRAYER

Prayer is one of the most basic practices of the Christian life and yet, for many of us, it can also be one of the hardest.

We know we should pray. Everything in us wants us to pray but life gets busy, our minds wander, and sometimes our time with God becomes something we get around to rather than something we live in. But prayer is more than bringing God our list of needs. It is turning our hearts toward Him and being in communion with the Father. It is worship, confession, thanksgiving, and much much more.

Jesus gave His disciples a model when He taught them: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done…”Matthew 6:9–10

This Sunday, as we continue the sermon series Back to the Basics, we're returning to one of the foundational practices of sitting at the feet of Jesus, and we are invited to do in PRAYER.

Its not simply learning how to pray, but learning to be with God.

Come join us as we slow down, turn our hearts toward God, and rediscover the gift of communion with Him.

Are you listening to Jesus?

We all know what it’s like to be under pressure. Sometimes pressure reveals things in us that we didn’t even know were there anger, resentment, jealousy, fear, or words we wish we could take back.

But what if we didn’t wait until the crisis came to reach for God’s Word? What if we filled our hearts with Scripture before the pressure?

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He responded again and again with the Word of God:
“It is written…”
Jesus didn’t reach for Scripture because it was convenient.
Scripture was already in Him.

This Sunday, we’re going back to the basics and asking:

Are you listening to Jesus?

Come join us as we learn what it means to be so rooted in God’s Word that His truth shapes how we think, speak, respond, and live.

Come as you are.

WEEK 2: BAPTISM

This Sunday, we continue our series “Back to the Basics"

Last week, we talked about what it means to simply be with Jesus. This week, we take another step back to the basics and look at baptism.

What does baptism mean?
Why did Jesus command His followers to be baptized?
And what does baptism say about our faith, our identity, and our commitment to follow Christ?
Baptism is more than getting wet. It is a beautiful picture of the gospel, dying to our old life, being raised to new life, and publicly identifying ourselves with Jesus.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
Matthew 28:19

Come join us as we get Back to the Basics and learn what it means to follow Jesus not just in what we believe, but in how we live.

BACK TO THE BASICS is our NEW SERMON SERIES

Life can get complicated. Our faith can too. We can become so busy "doing" things for Jesus that we forget what it means to simply "be with Jesus". That’s why we’re going Back to the Basics.

Over the next several weeks, we’re going to return to the simple, foundational practices of following Jesus. We are going to sit at His feet, listening to His voice, learning His ways, practicing His presence, and allowing Him to shape us into His likeness.

We’ll explore what it looks like to slow down, pray, listen, fast, rest, and live as disciples of Jesus in the middle of a busy world.

Because discipleship isn’t just about doing more for Jesus. It begins with being with Jesus. So wherever you are in your walk with Christ, come join us as we get back to what matters most.
