📖 You Belong to God 📖

This Sunday, we began our journey through the book of 1 Peter with a message titled “A Rich Greeting” from 1 Peter 1:1-2.

In a world that often feels uncertain and challenging, Peter reminds believers of three powerful truths:

✅ You belong to God.
✅ You do not belong to this world.
✅ You will be sustained by grace in suffering.

What an encouragement to know that the Father’s foreknowledge is behind us, the Spirit’s sanctifying work is within us, and Christ’s calling and redeeming blood are before us.

As we continue through 1 Peter, we’ll discover how God equips His people to stand firm, remain faithful, and live with hope—even in difficult times.

If you missed Sunday’s message, be sure to catch up and join us next week as we continue exploring this powerful letter to suffering believers.

“May grace and peace be multiplied to you.” — 1 Peter 1:2

“What storm are you facing today?” ⛈️

The disciples were terrified as the wind and waves crashed around them. Yet Jesus spoke just three words:

“Peace, be still.” — Mark 4:39

The storm didn’t stop because the disciples were strong.
The storm stopped because Jesus was with them.

No matter what you’re walking through today, the same Savior who calmed the sea is still in control.

What is one thing you need to trust God with this week?

🙏 We’d love to pray for you in the comments.

“And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” — Mark 4:39

Last week’s sermon was a difficult one to listen to. Walking through Judges 19, I was reminded just how dark and destructive sin can become when people turn away from God.

It’s a sobering reminder that when our eyes are off of God, things only get darker. Sin always leads deeper into pain, brokenness, and confusion.

Thankful that even in the hardest passages, God’s Word still speaks truth and points us back to Him.

Sunday Recap

Just A Little Bit | Judges 19
New Life Baptist Church – May 24, 2026

Our eyes can adjust to the dark.
But with eyes off of God, it’s only going to get darker.

This week we continue our study through the book of Judges as we look at one of the darkest chapters in Scripture and the sobering truth that there is no such thing as “just a little bit” of sin.

In this message:
• Sin is divisive
• Sin is dangerous
• Sin is deadly
• Only Christ delivers us from the power of sin

📖 Scripture:
Judges 19
Romans 7:24-25

Join us as we seek to keep our eyes fixed on God in a world growing darker by the day.

Today at the park I saw some graffiti that wasn’t filled with anger or darkness — it simply said, “Worried? Pray. The Lord Listens.” 👂

It made me smile because sometimes God reminds us of His presence in the most unexpected places. A sidewalk, a stranger’s message, a quiet moment — little reminders that He is always near and always listening.

Keep your eyes open today. God’s fingerprints are everywhere. 🙏

“Right Thing in the Right Place” | Judges 17–19

This Sunday we were reminded that when God is in His rightful place, everything else begins to fall into theirs.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank Joe and Jean-Marc for the countless hours they pour into our church week after week. From running sound, managing the tech side, and serving faithfully in the worship band, so much of what happens on Sunday mornings is possible because of their dedication behind the scenes.

Many people don’t see the late nights spent troubleshooting equipment, preparing audio, and figuring out technical issues so that our services can run smoothly and our church family can worship without distraction. Their commitment, patience, and servant hearts do not go unnoticed.

Thank you, Joe and John-Mark, for using your gifts so faithfully to serve the Lord and bless our church family every single week. We appreciate you both more than words can say!

What a great Sunday at church last week! The message reminded us that even when we drift, God is never far away. We were challenged to ask ourselves: Is God truly on the throne of our lives?

It was also a blessing to see our friend Jack back in church recovering after breaking his hip. God’s healing hand and faithfulness continue to shine through.

Thankful for the worship, fellowship, and encouragement from our church family. Looking forward to next Sunday already!

What a blessing to see our friend Jack back at church today after breaking his hip. God has been faithful through his recovery, and it was encouraging to see him worshipping with us again.

Please continue to keep Jack in your prayers as he heals and regains strength. God is good! 🙏

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our church work day today!

We are so grateful for all the helping hands, hard work, laughter, and fellowship that went into caring for the church grounds. From yard cleanup to lifting, trimming, hauling, and everything in between — your willingness to serve made such a difference.

It’s a blessing to be part of a church family that serves with joy and works together for the glory of God. Thank you for giving your time and energy to help make our church look beautiful and welcoming for all.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians
