Today was A bittersweet day as staff said “see you later” to their GM, their mentor and friend. Tom Tavani walked out the doors of CFFO for the last time as a staff member.

We wish Tom all the best as he follows Gods calling back into the mission field. We pray for your safety, strength and love ❤️

We all here at CFFO will miss you, your support, your “pranks 😉🤣” your guidance, your leadership and the ability to lead as a Godly man

🌾 Connecting, Learning & Looking Ahead for Ontario Agriculture

CFFO Policy Advisor, Paul Bootsma was pleased to join , Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness along with other industry representatives, for a visit to the Cargill elevators in Sarnia.

The visit provided an important opportunity to discuss potential developments, learn more about the role Cargill’s Sarnia operations play in supporting the local community and Ontario’s agricultural sector, and explore the opportunities this facility may hold for the future.

Conversations like these are valuable as we continue to advocate for Ontario farmers, strengthen relationships across the agriculture and agri-food sector, and look ahead to opportunities that support strong and sustainable rural communities.

Thank you to Minister Jones, Cargill, and everyone involved for the opportunity to connect, learn and share perspectives.

Member Engagment Coordinator Steve Sutcliffe had the incredible chance to meet and talk to Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre in St. Thomas over the weekend. Steve was able to introduce CFFO to him and let him know who we are , where we stand and what we do.

Sometimes, showing up can feel like one more thing on an already full plate.

Between work, family, farming, church, community commitments and everything else life brings, volunteering or attending a local event can easily feel like too much.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting local charities, serving on community boards, helping with fundraisers, church events and community functions. And I can genuinely say that I have often received far more than I have given.

I leave feeling energized. Joyful. Grateful. And reminded of just how blessed I am.

There is something powerful about giving our time and using the gifts God has given us to serve others. We may think we are simply filling a volunteer position or lending a hand—but we never know who might need our smile, our encouragement, our conversation, or simply our presence that day.

So, if you’ve been wondering whether you should volunteer, attend that community event, or offer to help…

Here’s your cue: DO IT! 💚

The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario is proud to congratulate Frank and Julia Hoftyzer on their upcoming induction into the Peterborough Agricultural Wall of Fame.

Frank and Julia have dedicated countless years to strengthening Ontario agriculture through their unwavering commitment to leadership, service, and stewardship. Deeply involved in the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario, as well as the dairy, beef, goat, and cropping sectors, they have faithfully served in numerous local and provincial leadership roles.

Their passion for agriculture extends beyond their own farm. As strong advocates for on-farm research and agricultural awareness, they have welcomed countless visitors through farm tours, helping bridge the gap between farmers and consumers. They also played a key role in the publication of the Peterborough County Agri-Notes newsletter, ensuring valuable agricultural knowledge and stories reached the local community.

Frank and Julia exemplify servant leadership, generosity, and a lifelong commitment to advancing agriculture while inspiring those around them. Their induction into the Peterborough Agricultural Wall of Fame is a fitting recognition of the lasting impact they have made on farming, their community, and future generations.
