"In that most burdensome moment of all human history, with blood appearing at every pore and an anguished cry upon His lips, Christ sought Him whom He had always sought—His Father. “Abba,” He cried, “Papa,” or from the lips of a younger child, “Daddy.”

This is such a personal moment it almost seems a sacrilege to cite it. A Son in unrelieved pain, a Father His only true source of strength, both of them staying the course, making it through the night—together."

🍁 Remember those who have fallen in the battles of war today. Look into your history. It is more than likely if you dig deep enough you will find a relative be it a Great Uncle, Great Aunt, Grandfather or Grandfather who may have predeceased you, but who left you with a remembrance of their sacrifice. I met a woman today who proudly wore her poppy, also
in Rembrance, who was proud to tell all who would hear today, that she had discovered her own Grandmother was a nurse that served. If you know of no one or have no one in your family who has served, we can always be thankful for those who put themselves forward on are behalf. Their names are always recorded. Drive down Memorial drive today. See the crosses that stand “row in row”. For all of “my” seminary kids, you need only to walk up Veterans Way in our own town or see the crosses lining our streets and banners that are on our lamp posts. Remember a name or many. Today we Remember all those Canadians who served our country and helped many other Nations in preserving their freedoms, and peace. How grateful I am! 🇨🇦

One of the favourite things I know, is that what this quote/picture using C.S. Lewis’ words, is true.
I would even say it brings me great comfort to know this.
Whether we are talking about mistakes in our youth, relationships we didn’t maintain, words we can’t take back but can say we are sorry for, the lack of judgement calls, the situations we could have handled better with loved ones, or even just our day to day falterings.
♥️God loves YOU!
♥️God and The Savior, Jesus Christ live!
Their love is both unconditional and beyond our comprehension.
If YOU don’t know this? I implore you to kneel in prayer and ask Heavenly Father if these *two simple* things are true.
You will then have your own spiritual confirmation that this is so!
Who wants to scramble in the past trying to change what can’t be changed? Quite a waste of time, and not at all what Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ would want us to occupy our efforts upon.
This, when your *very* next step toward change, is made possible through the infinite Atonement; repentance and the undying love of those who know us better than we know ourselves.
We can learn of this very thing by turning to the scriptures. (Scripture Mastery BTW 😉)
John 3, 16-17 states:
“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
We are supposed to make mistakes that we can’t change, its part of life, and this sojourn on earth. We won’t perish from these mistakes because our loving Father in Heaven would not have it, any more than a loving earthly parent would wish their child to perish for having made albeit, sometimes, foolhardy mistakes.
It’s just not Gods way!
Not one is perfect but the Messiah who dwelt on this earth.
We are to be joyful, not guilt ridden!! We can only emulate Him, realizing that, as John taught in this passage, that the *world*, through Him (the Savior), might be saved. That includes YOU.
Son don’t change what you can’t! Resolve to be better, strive for perfection, live and love as He does.
Guess what? It’s all gonna be ok.
Be good! 😉 Love to all! ♥️
