This Wednesday evening in the HRUC Sanctuary, join us for a movie showing of 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture.

1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture is a feature documentary that follows the story of tireless researchers who trace the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians to a grave mistranslation of the Bible in 1946. It chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University which unveil astonishing new revelations, and casts significant doubt on any biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors, including the personal stories of the film’s creators, 1946 is at once challenging, enlightening, and inspiring.

This is a no-cost, drop-in event. There is no need to register. It is open to the public; all are welcome to attend.

June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, part of National Indigenous History Month. We are thankful for and acknowledge the people of the Treaty 7, Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai, the Tsuut'tina and the Stoney Nakoda nations, as well as the people of the Foothills Métis Nation, on whose territory we gather to worship today. We give thanks for their care for and sacred relationship with the land.

Come walk the Labyrinth and welcome the Summer Solstice on Sat. Jun. 20th from 3:30-5:30 pm. As you walk toward the centre, reflect on what you want to let go of. Pause at the centre to meditate and embrace fresh intentions. As you walk out bring the insights you gained back into your daily life. This is a drop in event; there is no need to register.

Back by popular demand - Fun Family BINGO night returns to High River United on Friday, June 26th at 6:30 pm. This is a fun event the whole family can enjoy! All BINGO supplies are provide, including marker/daubers. Participation is free and there are small prizes to be won. Come and join in the fun! Admission is free with donations accepted.
