I’m going to be taking a few days off. While I’m out of the office, our Admin (Kim) will be holding down the fort. In case of emergencies I have asked the very capable and friendly neighborhood Batman…sorry, Reverend…Linton Worrell (of Quispamsis UC) to cover for me June 10th-13th. Kim will have his number in case anyone needs emergency pastoral care.

Just a reminder: my prayers for you never go on vacation. Even from far away I am keeping you all close in prayer. 💗🙏🏼

Love,

Rev. Lackey

P.S. Hampton United Security detail is also coming along for the ride 🐾🚔👮🏽‍♂️

It is a beauty of a day outside. Thank you, God!

Two important things to share:

1) We’re having two special grad services Sunday morning (10:15am) and Sunday evening (7pm). We hope you’ll join us! I preach in the morning for our regular service and Pastor Ian Tupper (whose son is among the graduates this year) will preach for our town-wide ecumenical Baccloreatte service in the evening.

Blueberry and I worked on the sermon for Sunday on the church lawn this morning. Ok, ok…I worked on the sermon and Blue “supervised.”

2) It is such a nice day, I submitted a request for a half day so Blueberry and I can take the afternoon off. If anyone needs me I won’t be in the office but I have my cell phone on in case of emergencies. Also: my prayers never take a day off so you’re covered…I’ll just be praying for you in the sun is all. ☀️🌊

Wherever you find yourself today I pray God’s love all around you.

Blessings,

Rev. Lackey (and Blue 💙🐾)

People come to church for many different reasons:

To pray
To sing
To connect
To meditate on Love and how to live

Whatever your reason, we hope you come today. There’s a family waiting to greet you when you come in the door.

The best office space ever! Thank you, God. Hampton is such a lovely town to live and work in.

If you look closely our church “security” officer is wondering why he’s not allowed to patrol outside. When Jayne Wilbur came by earlier, and asked why he wasn’t outside, I told her: it’s so I can actually finish the sermon (instead of playing fetch the whole time). 😂🫣🐾

Today I’m thankful for: the sun, the church grounds, Kim (our awesome admin and my sister in Christ), the beautiful yellow monarchs that have been flying by, Blueberry’s tail wags, and the diversity of God’s Love in and around us. Thank you, God.

Did you get outside today? What did you see? What are you thankful for?

From The NakedPastor:

Today, 65 countries have laws that criminalize LGBTQIA+people for who they are or how they express themselves. In some places, being LGBTQIA+ can still carry the death penalty. That's roughly 34% of the world where simply being yourself can come with legal consequences.

Which is why friendship, allyship, and acceptance matter so much. There is still work to do. 🌈❤️

We helped serve 200 high school students lunch for the end of the year lunch program. You can imagine the hot dogs! Hahaha.

Thank you to Minerva, Marion, and Bill who rolled their sleeves up to help today. Minerva even got to serve her granddaughter. We heard “Nana!” being hollered from down the street. Hahaha. Very cool.

Thanks Hampton United Church and all the volunteers who help out regularly for ensuring our high school students are nourished with some warm food and a kind presence. It’s an important ministry.

Thanks to St. Paul’s Anglican Church family for hosting the program. What a beautiful space.

Thank God, last but not least, for a beautiful day. Blessings to our high school students as you wind down another school year: especially to the grads preparing for a new chapter in life!

*props to parents, teachers, and the kids themselves. We’re always so impressed with how polite this group of young people are! 💗
