“Welcome Back, Kim!” We’d like to welcome our Awesome Administrator Kim Forsythe-Law back to the office. Although, Kim, it didn’t feel like you ever truly left for summer especially between errands, summer camp, and all the Sunday PowerPoints. You’ve still been helping out all summer. We appreciate you.

Just a reminder to our faith family that you’re prayed for and loved. I pray for you each everyday. For those who might need more connection than that, I am available for pastoral visits either at your home or here at the office. Just let me know.

If you haven’t heard it yet today: God loves you and we love you, too!

If you love music, join us for this concert. I am looking forward to hearing them sing.

Please help us spread the word. Half of the proceeds go to Valley Girls and half go to our church. Singing so great for the soul Attending this concert can help Valley Girls with their music funds and supporting music/singing in our communities. Supporting Hampton United means helping us provide free programming for families - this includes things like the free day camp we hosted this summer.

It’s nice to be able to appreciate the music and give back to our community(s) at the same time. Come join us!

I don’t know if I’ve ever been “Gatorade-level” excited for church. I don’t know maybe Al and Layton do? (I doubt it, because even I don’t get that excited about my reflections 😉😂.)

Gatorade-level excited?! No. But, what I can say is that, I always look forward to going to church.

At our church you can find…I guess the most important thing other than a connection with God would be.,.a connection with family. We gather to pray, sing, and learn about love together (from the example of and help from Jesus). We even laugh together…hence the comic for today 😂. Afterwards, we share tea, coffee, and snacks. Which, not pointing any fingers, is the favourite part for some people…👆🏾👉👇🏻👉🏽

If that’s something that might be soul food for you…if you think you might need that connection…if you’re missing something and don’t quite know what…come join us. Our church home is 24 Robb Court (up from town square and busters) 10:15am.

Even if we don’t see you we wish you a good Sunday…a good everything. May you find love wherever you are (and with whoever you find yourself with). May God hold you in a way that feels like home.

I had the humble joy of delivering a special hug to one of our sisters in hospital, today: Judy McNab. I reminded Judy that, that hug was on behalf of our whole family and I reminded her we love her.

Judy, and I have permission to share, is going in for surgery, tomorrow. It’s to remove an infection in her stomach. Please keep her, and her medical team, in your prayers.

I reminded Judy that God is with her and so are our praying hands. Further still, her family in heaven will be watching over her tomorrow, too.

She’s got a huge family with her in prayer. Amen?!

…Amen.

Loving God,
parent and companion to us all,
hold the precious children and young people in your loving care
as they begin a new school year.

Nurture in them a sense of wonder.
Keep their curiosity alive,
their imaginations wide,
and their hearts open to the joy of discovering something new.

May the spark of creativity, possibility, and adventure
continue to burn brightly within them.
Give them courage to ask questions,
freedom to dream,
and confidence to become who they are meant to be.

Surround them with people who see their worth
and meet them with kindness, patience, and respect.
Protect them from harm,
from cruelty and fear,
and from words and ideas that diminish the dignity of others.

Join us for coffee hour: station33 in Hampton at 10:30am this morning.

We usually sing a bit, chat, there’s lot of laughter….if you need some of that in your life, please join in!

I’ll be there (curly hair and baby bump - my name is Jen). If I’m not there when you arrive, look for a gaggle of women! Hahaha. Can’t miss’em!

It’s Sunday morning and every Sunday I look forward to going to church…

Throughout my life it’s been a steady anchor for me: from learning from Jesus kindness in a world where I need to be reminded of it; to, wherever I’ve lived (and coming from a military family that always seemed to be away from my biological family) finding an automatic family within its doors; to music and singing (which has always filled my cup and nourished my soul); to many things I cannot name with words but that I would attribute to the mystery of the Holy Spirit….these are things that have always made me look forward to going to church Sunday morning.

Even though I don’t get to sit in the pew anymore…church, more importantly the Spirit of Love and family I find there, is something I still look forward to. If even God, the Creator of all of “this,” needed a Sabbath day…we do, too.

Maybe you don’t find your Sabbath that way? But what are you doing to anchor yourself? To nourish your spirit? Please consider those things and make time - sabbath time - for them.

If you live in our neck of the woods we meet at 10:15 24 Robb Court Hampton (just up from Busters). There are also other church families in our area and we gather in the name of the same Love they do. Think about it…especially if what you’re doing right now isn’t filling your cup…

Two people are on my heart...

***I’d encourage those who don’t see pets as fur babies to, “scroll on by!”***

For some people, dogs are meant to be simply animals or working dogs, but for a lot of us (present company included) they’re our fur babies. They’re beloved companions on the journey.

Two women in our congregation have lost their fur babies, recently. Both of them are connected in a special way and I’ll explain why.

Bonita, has been caring for her granddaughter and great grandbaby (who decided to come into the world early). Both are in hospital. She has also been caring for the fur baby of fellow sister/congregant, Judy while Judy has been in hospital (that fur baby’s name is, Wendy - pictured here). While doing all this caring for others…Bonita lost her loyal companion (and very regal looking fur baby), Sid.

Judy, not long ago, lost her beloved NL dog and, last week, had to say goodbye to her Wendy - yes the puppy Bonita has been caring for while Judy was in hospital.

Both of our sisters have faced a lot of hospital time (Bonita on behalf of her granddaughter/great grandbaby and Judy because of her own health concerns)….all the while they’re now having to grieve this significant loss.

Please join me in praying for them and passing along your condolences when you see them (or, here, where they can find them).

Oftentimes, we - who view our pets as fur babies - grieve them just as much (or more) than close family relationships. It’s an unspoken bond of love. I always say: it’s a loss like no other because it is a love like no other. I’m glad we believe animals have a sacred spirit and it is to be celebrated.

Judy and Bonita we join you in celebrating the life of Sid and Wendy. We commend their spirit to the care of their Creator. The Creator of Love itself. That Love is everlasting and know you are connected in it forever. We lift you and hold you with that everlasting love as you both grieve.

*For those of you reading this missing your pet…we’re praying for you, too.

The “Superlemons” asked me to spread the word about their lemonade stand! It’s at the park downtown Hampton just across from Snows Ice Cream. Just bought two to bring to some seniors. Come out and support them!

I asked them if they’re raising money for anything and they said: just summer funds. I asked them if their parents encouraged them to and they said it was their idea. Some young entrepreneurs here!
