"A Furry, Fuzzy, Singing Thing"

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a meaningful service as we explored "Resilience and Resurrection." In this week's message, we reflected on the story of Thecla from The Acts of Paul and Thecla alongside Anne Carson’s poetry collection Glass, Irony and God, considering how human dignity and personhood are not privileges granted by a ruling establishment, but inherent in every person. https://youtu.be/6EpvJW0Lw50. This week's spiritual practice exercises are listed in the comments.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a meaningful service as we explored "Real Love In A Real World." In this week's message, we reflected on the story of Tabitha from Acts 9 alongside Margaret Atwood's poem "The Moment," considering how we often hide behind walls of control, performance, and self-made perfection. Rather than treating love like a reality show with artificial walls and limited winners, we were reminded that real love requires honesty, courage, and patience.

Whether as a personal weekly devotion or a shared quiet time with a friend, you are invited to explore these themes further. In the comments, you will find this week’s 4 Paths exercise with an additional exercise at the end: setting aside some quiet time for a "blind date with yourself." As you walk through these exercises, I’d love to hear what you find. Feel free to reply and share any reflections or insights from your own study.

In the message from October 4, "The Golden Ticket of Faith," we reflected on the vision of Revelation 7 alongside a recent Pew Research Center report on global religious trends and considered what it means to live out our faith as part of a world-wide community when numbers and status no longer define us. Rather than treating grace like a reality show with limited winners, we were reminded that our very existence- our lives, our light, our love- are "golden tickets," unearned gifts of grace meant to extend God's warmth, dignity, and welcome to everyone. This week's spiritual exercise is in the comments.
