Flourishing Together is the theme of this year’s Canvass – How can our spiritual exploration of courage help us understand the possibilities of Flourishing Together? It takes courage to call for a different world, a changed world, and when we come together, when we bring our ideas, resources and time together, it can be easier to find that courage.

Through love, hope, and community, we find the strength to keep moving forward.”

The Courage to Have Challenging Conversations

October brings with it the theme of Courage this year, and our first service asks us to wrestle with the idea of having challenging conversations. Brené Brown speaks of this idea in her book Rising Strong where she says “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot have both. Not at the same time.”

What does this mean for a community that seeks to come together across our differences, and hold the ideal “We need not think alike to love alike”?

Speaker, Rev. Danie Webber
Music Minister, JP Morrison
