On Saturdays we give thanks for the previous week .....

Heavenly Father,
As we come to the close of another week, we pause to give You thanks. Thank You for Your faithfulness in every day that has passed—for the blessings we noticed and for the countless ways You worked behind the scenes that we never saw.
Thank You for strength in times of challenge, comfort in moments of uncertainty, and joy in the gifts of family, friends, and community. Thank You for guiding our steps, providing for our needs, and surrounding us with Your grace when we fell short.
We give thanks for the opportunities to serve, to learn, to grow, and to share Your love with others. We remember with gratitude the prayers You have answered and trust You with those still awaiting Your perfect timing.
As we enter this weekend, fill our hearts with peace and renewed hope. Prepare us to gather in worship, to hear Your Word, and to be refreshed by Your Holy Spirit. May all that we have experienced this week draw us closer to You and deepen our trust in Your unfailing love.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

On Fridays we pray for the community around MacNab ......

Heavenly Father,
As Friday unfolds and another week begins to draw to a close, we lift before You the community of MacNab Presbyterian Church. Thank You for every person who walks through its doors, every prayer offered, every act of kindness shared, and every quiet moment where Your Spirit brings comfort and hope.
Lord, strengthen this congregation to be a light in the community — a place of welcome for the weary, encouragement for the discouraged, and fellowship for those who feel alone. Bless the ministries of the church, the leaders who serve faithfully, and the volunteers who give of their time and energy with generous hearts.
We pray for families facing challenges, for seniors needing strength, for young people seeking direction, and for those carrying hidden burdens today. Surround them with Your peace and remind them they are never beyond Your care.
As the weekend approaches, prepare hearts for worship, renewal, and deeper connection with You. May MacNab continue to reflect the love of Christ in Hamilton and beyond — serving with compassion, humility, and joy.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.

On Thursdays we pray for peace ....

Gracious and loving God,
On this Thursday morning we lift before You our weary and wounded world.
Where there is war, bring peace.
Where there is hatred, sow mercy.
Where fear and violence rule the day, let Your light shine again.
We pray today for places where conflict continues — for the people of Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, Sudan, Myanmar, and so many forgotten regions where families live under the shadow of violence and uncertainty.
Lord, comfort those who mourn loved ones, protect innocent civilians, and strengthen all who work for justice, healing, and reconciliation.
We remember refugees and displaced people tonight — mothers carrying children across borders, fathers searching for safety, seniors left alone, and children who no longer know the comfort of home.
Be shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, hope for the discouraged, and protection for the vulnerable.
Guide world leaders away from pride, revenge, and destruction.
Give them wisdom to choose dialogue over division and compassion over power.
Raise up peacemakers whose voices will not grow weary.
And Lord, do not let our own hearts become hardened by constant news of suffering.
Teach us to pray faithfully, give generously, welcome compassionately, and live as people of Your peace in our homes, churches, and communities.
May the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, calm the storms of this troubled world and remind every fearful soul that they are not forgotten.
In His holy name we pray,
Amen.

On Wednesdays we pray for the homeless ....

Gracious and loving God,
On this Wednesday we lift before You all who are homeless, displaced, lonely, or struggling to find shelter and safety tonight. You know every name, every story, every silent tear. For those sleeping in shelters, on couches, in cars, or on the streets, surround them with Your mercy and protection.
Lord Jesus, You Himself had “nowhere to lay Your head.” Walk closely with those who feel forgotten. Provide warm meals, safe places, compassionate workers, caring communities, and renewed hope for tomorrow. Open hearts in our cities and churches to see people not as problems, but as precious children made in Your image.
We pray for those battling addiction, mental illness, grief, trauma, or unemployment. Bring healing where there is brokenness and courage where there is despair. Strengthen organizations, outreach workers, shelters, and ministries that serve faithfully day after day.
And Lord, show us how we may be part of the answer to someone’s prayer — through kindness, generosity, advocacy, and compassion.
May Your light shine in the darkest places this day, and may every weary soul know they are deeply loved by You.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.

On Tuesdays we pray for the mission of MacNab ......

Gracious and sending God,
On this Tuesday we lift before You the mission and ministry of MacNab Presbyterian Church.
Plant Your vision deeply within the hearts of Your people.
May MacNab be more than a building —
make it a living witness to the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ in this community.
Bless every conversation, every act of kindness, every prayer offered quietly, every hand extended in compassion, and every word spoken in faith.
Open doors for ministry.
Lead seekers toward hope.
Strengthen the weary.
Encourage the faithful.
And raise up new servants who will joyfully share the Gospel.
Lord Jesus, go ahead of the congregation into the neighbourhoods, homes, schools, hospitals, and workplaces of Hamilton.
May Your light shine through the people of MacNab so clearly that others are drawn not to human effort, but to You.
Give wisdom to leaders, unity to the congregation, courage for outreach, and hearts that remain sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit.
Today we pray that MacNab’s mission would bear lasting fruit —
bringing peace where there is anxiety,
welcome where there is loneliness,
truth where there is confusion,
and Christ where He is not yet known.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

On MONDAYS we pray for the new week .....

Heavenly Father,
As a new week begins, we pause to place it into Your hands. Thank You for the gift of another Monday — another opportunity to walk with You, serve others, and witness Your faithfulness in the ordinary moments of life.
Go before us in every conversation, every responsibility, every challenge, and every unseen concern. Grant us wisdom for decisions, patience in frustration, courage in uncertainty, and kindness in all we do.
Lord Jesus, steady weary hearts and renew tired spirits. For those carrying burdens today — grief, anxiety, loneliness, financial strain, family worries, or questions about the future — let Your presence be near and Your peace unmistakable.
May this week not simply be busy, but fruitful. Help us to notice where Your Spirit is moving. Open doors for encouragement, compassion, and quiet acts of grace. Teach us to trust You not only on the mountaintops, but also in the routines and responsibilities of daily life.
Bless our homes, our workplaces, our churches, our communities, and those we love. Protect those who travel, strengthen those who serve, and comfort those who are hurting.
And whatever this week may bring, remind us that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness never fails.
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.” — Psalms
In the name of Christ our hope and strength,
Amen.
