Save the date, Westdale family!

For decades, Westdale United Church has been a place of love and welcome. Now, we are ready to make that commitment official.

Our Affirming Committee has completed its work with Affirm United, and we are moving to the final step of our journey: a congregational vote to become an officially Affirming Ministry. This is our way of being public, intentional, and explicit about our radical welcome and justice for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

When: Sunday, September 13, right after worship

What: A quick review of our journey, a time for questions, and the official vote

Church is all about building community so we love to see moments like this. Not an official church event, just (7 of the) eight folks from our church family who all wanted to hang out at Canada's Wonderland together.

We are so glad that because of a film crew all the staff had parked in another parking lot yesterday and our treasurer had left literally minutes before the tree fell.

We are grateful to the city of Hamilton forestry department who was out at 11:00 p.m. last night serveying damage and especially to our caretaker Joel who came in early and moved most of the branches.
