Our annual Pride Service Fiercely Loved returns Sunday, June 7th, at 4:00 pm with Bishop Susan at Christ's Church Cathedral.

Jesus’ words, “this is my body,” are the theme for our Pride celebration this year. The words “This is my body” form one of the high points in the Eucharistic Prayers, while also taking a page from Paul, who thinks about the church as a body with many parts with Christ as its head (1 Corinthians 12.12-27). So, those gathering at this year’s Fiercely Loved, allies and 2S&LGBTQIA+ people together, we will all hear a proclamation where Jesus says of us, “This is my body.” Or possibly, “You are my body.”

Join us for Choral Evensong - a rare opportunity in Hamilton!

On Sunday May 3 at 4:00pm the Cathedral will host a service of Choral Evensong organized by the Royal School of Church Music, Canada. The service will be directed by Laurence Williams, Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral, London, and the organist will be Andrew Keegan Mackriell, Organist of St George’s Anglican Church, London, ON. The Reverend Canon Dr. Sharyn Hall will preach. The choir will be composed of singers from several area churches, and the service will include hymns for the congregation.

Music will include the Evening Service in D by Herbert Brewer (1865-1928), Eternal Love by Sarah Quartel (b.1982), and The River of the Water of Life by Malcolm Archer (b.1952). The organ prelude and postlude are both by Herbert Howells (1892-1983): Rhapsody No.1 in Db, Op.17, and Paean (1940).

All are most welcome to attend the service which will be followed by light refreshments.
