What a morning in church!
We remembered the day of our baptism during a Godly Play story, welcomed two new members of the Body of Christ in a baptism, presented Sunday School certificates to the kids, and got to share in a big parish barbecue afterwards. Father Jonathan and his family even got to jump on the bouncy castle with the kids! 😂

Thanks to everyone who helped make our Sunday School closing such a success!

This morning, the Parish Council spent time with Gordon Young, preparing for a review of the Parish of the Apostles' Strategic Plan. This will be an ongoing process to engage with over the coming months, and will be focused by a commitment to:
👀 Seeing
👀 Considering
👀 Contemplating
As we prepare for this important work, please keep the Parish and our leadership in prayer. 🙏

From our friends at City Kidds Escape Society:

🌱 City Kidds Escape Launches First Summer Planting at Westwood Park 🌱

Founder & Director Tina Raftus invites the community to join the first summer planting event for the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Community Children’s Garden Project!

Saturday, June 13 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Westwood Park – Commonwealth Garden Beds & Tributes Gardens

Kids, families, and neighbors will come together to plant, learn, and grow the future of this community garden.

CBC News will be on site covering the event.
Plant donations are welcome and appreciated.

Shout-out to local garden centres: If you’d like to support Halifax kids and donate plants for the day, email [email protected] and help us make this garden thrive.

No experience needed. Just show up, get your hands dirty, and help us build something lasting for the kids of Halifax.

Be part of the first planting. Be part of the story.

In the Middle East today, the people of The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem—teachers, nurses, and priests—refuse to be immovable in the face of suffering. Through the Princess Basma Centre and Al Ahli Arab Hospital, they act as the mortar in a fracturing society. They show us that a spiritual house is built of people who lean on one another to stay standing in the crossfire.

As we mark Jerusalem and the Holy Land Sunday on this seventh Sunday of Easter, we're pleased to have a guest preacher: Will Postma, Executive Director of Alongside Hope. Come hear how the Church is supporting the work of the Diocese of Jerusalem at such a crucial time and Alongside Hope's other partnerships around the world
