Do you have a q***r or trans grandchild and want to be the best grandparent you can be? Sometimes we want to show our love, but we don’t know the right things to say—or we’re scared of saying the wrong thing. Join us on Wednesday June 24 at Dublin Street United Church from 6 to 8pm. Dublin Affirm is hosting the experts from Out On The Shelf - Q***r Library and Resource Centre for a workshop on modern terminology and how to create a "safe space" for your grandkids. Although this workshop is geared towards grandparents, all caregivers are welcome. Let’s bridge the generation gap together!

Here is your Quote of the Week! ✨

Each week, we’re sharing words to inspire, reflect on, and carry with you through your days.

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
— Psalm 19:1

Ethiopia Goes Electric! 🚍⚡️

Following their 2024 ban on imports of fossil-fuel powered vehicles, over 100,000 of
Ethiopia’s 1.2 million registered cars are electric. The country aims to increase this number to 500,000 by 2030. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, introduced 100 new electric buses to the city in 2025, serving the 90,000 passengers who rely on public transit. The power used to charge these EV’s is also renewable! Ethiopia generates more than 96% of its electricity through renewable hydropower. The new Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (with over 5,000 megawatts capacity) is expected to double the country’s green energy supply.
