The Fellowship

The Fellowship Membership as a Fellowship Baptist Church is always a dual membership with both a Fellowship Region and Fellowship National.

The Fellowship is a denomination of approximately 500 Evangelical Baptist Churches scattered across Canada, from the Yukon to the tip of Nova Scotia, united through our faith in Christ — working nationally and beyond our borders. Henry Vanderlaan is one of our new Volunteer chaplains and is a member of Grace Bible Church in Cambridge, ON. He has a particular interest in working with those who are dying and with those who have lost a loved one. Henry is currently doing studies in Pastoral Thanatology at Tyndale Seminary to better prepare himself for this kind of ministry. Pray that God would open up an internship spot which is needed to become a Certified Thanatologist Pastoral Specialist. Pray also that God would use Henry as he brings the "ministry of presence" into these situations.

Today is World Refugee Day.

Around the world, millions of people have been displaced by war, persecution, and instability.

That’s why FAIR is launching its refreshed Fellowship Refugee Care Program.
This initiative is a practical expression of Christ’s call to love our neighbours, welcome the weary, and serve the vulnerable (Matthew 25:31-40). It invites our churches to bring tangible Gospel hope to new Canadians.

Since 2015, 39 Fellowship churches have helped sponsor 342 refugees as they begin new lives in Canada. Through hospitality, practical care, and Gospel-centred community, lives have been transformed.

Whether through sponsorship, prayer, or giving, every church can play a part in bringing hope to people in need.

Major Gary Karamanoukian is a Regular Forces Military Chaplain. He has taken on the role of Brigade Chaplain with the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG) in Valcartier, Quebec. In this role he supervises nine chaplains who each support 500 military members. His responsibilities also include being the advisor to the Commander of the 5 CMBG. Gary has also been elected by the Military Baptist Caucus as the Spiritual Faith Tradition representative, which means he mentors and coaches all Baptist candidates until they enter the Forces. Gary will be deploying overseas for six months, June to December 2026, and would covet your prayers for his family, his team of chaplains, and the members they will be supporting.

Some pastors are reluctant to attend pastors' conferences or similar gatherings where they might be asked this often daunting question: "How big is your church?" In a world of mega-churches, multiple-site churches, and the attitude that bigger is not only better, but best, smaller congregations, and those who pastor them, feel intimidated and discouraged in gatherings with other church leaders from grander congregations. And then there are those congregations and their pastors struggling with the possibility of having to close their doors. Among the gems that are part of Fellowship Archives is an article written by Mrs. Dorothy Brotherton for the B.C. Regular Baptist magazine back in the 80s.
