Something special is beginning at ERCF!

September is Vision Month, and this weekend we are launching Built for More, the beginning of an important new season for our church.

We’re starting the weekend the best way we know how: by lifting up the name of Jesus together!

Join us for a special Praise Night followed by fireworks as we worship, celebrate what God has already done, and pray into everything He is calling us to become.

Then, join us Sunday morning as we begin Built for More with Every Part Matters from Ephesians 4:11–16.

Pre-service prayer: 9:35 a.m.
Sunday service: 10:00 a.m.

Built for More is not about building a bigger church. It is about becoming the people Jesus is calling us to be.

Bring your family, invite someone to join you, and come ready to worship, celebrate, and imagine what God could do through a church where every person encounters Jesus, becomes a disciple, and lives on mission.

This is who we are becoming—and you have a part to play.

What are you wearing into the world?

In Colossians 3, Paul gives us a picture of spiritual formation: take off the attitudes and behaviours of the old life and put on the character of Jesus.

Sunday morning, we looked more closely at what these words mean and how they show up in our everyday relationships. I wanted to share the definitions from the message so we can continue reflecting on them throughout the week.

As you read through the slides, ask yourself:

What needs to come off?
What quality of Jesus does the Holy Spirit want to make more visible in me?

The goal is not simply to know more about Jesus. It is to become more like Jesus.

Jesus does not simply change our behaviour. He transforms our character.

Is Jesus really enough?

It’s a question every one of us has to answer.

Because the moment we begin believing we need Jesus + something else: success, approval, comfort, control, security; we’ve started drifting from the One who is enough.

Colossians reminds us that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the Head of the Church, and the One who has reconciled us to the Father.

My prayer is that we would see Jesus more clearly. Because when Jesus becomes bigger, everything else begins to find its proper place.

Is Jesus really enough?

It's a question every one of us has to answer. Because whenever we begin believing we need **Jesus + something else**—success, security, comfort, approval, control—we've started drifting from the One who is enough.

This past Sunday, we continued our *Built Around Jesus* series by looking at one of the most incredible passages in the New Testament, Colossians 1:15–23. Paul reminds us that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the Head of the Church, and the One who has reconciled us to the Father.

Who gets to tell you who you are?

Our culture has a lot to say about our identity. Our past, our success, our failures, our relationships—even our fears all try to define us.

But what if Jesus is the One who gets the final word?

This Sunday we kicked off our new series, Built Around Jesus, with Colossians 1:1–14. We looked at how everything changes when Jesus is at the centre of our lives and why Paul begins with identity before instruction.

What gets to define your life?

Our success?
Our failures?
Our careers?
Our past?
Other people's opinions?

This Sunday we began our series through the book of Colossians with one simple truth:

Everything changes when Jesus gets to tell you who you are.

Paul begins his letter by reminding the church that our identity isn't something we earn; it's something we receive in Christ.

He reminds us that we've been rescued, forgiven, transferred into His Kingdom, and invited into a life of continual transformation.

As we begin this new season together at ERCF, my prayer is simple:

That we would become a church known because Jesus is changing people's lives.

Over the next eight weeks, we'll walk verse by verse through Colossians, discovering what it means to:

• Encounter Jesus
• Become a Disciple
• Live on Mission
