Today’s sermon is titled “Walking in the Suddenlies of God.”

Jesus instructed His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were "endued with power from on high.” As they waited in prayer and expectation, suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind.

God moves in seasons. He may reveal what He intends to do, yet the manifestation can still come suddenly and catch us by surprise.

Our responsibility is to remain positioned: waiting, praying, believing, and ready for the divine interruptions and sudden interventions of God.

Today’s sermon is titled “Restoring the Gates.”

The walls of Jerusalem lay in ruins, and Nehemiah, whose name means comforter, was raised to rebuild them. Likewise, the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, works in us to rebuild and restore our lives.

We see the high priest rebuilding the Sheep Gate: a picture of Christ, our Great High Priest, who builds by His Spirit and is Himself the Gate through whom we receive salvation.

Our souls need walls and gates: boundaries that guard us from influences that seek to corrupt what God is building within us.

Let the gates be restored. Let the walls stand.
