The offertory for the morning worship service was provided by Guelph Citadel Band member Carter Jones. A piano treatment of the Dan Forrest tune associated with the Charles Wesley lyrics, 'And Can It Be?'.

And Can It Be?

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

This morning’s offering was a Dorothy Gates arrangement of the Songster selection ‘Rest’, presented as a Cornet Solo, and played by our principal cornetist, Carter Jones. The selection encourages the listener to rest in God's loving presence, and rely on His strength in times of worry.

Rest, the Lord is there
Lift up your prayer
For he is strong
Trust, he’ll bring release
And perfect peace will calm your mind

There is no need
For needless worry
With such a saviour
You have no cause to ever
Doubt, His perfect word
Still reassures, in any trial
