Join us Sunday morning at 10 am in person or online. Pastor Erick presents a message titled “Check in Questions of Ministry”. He will be looking at the book of Ephesians chapter 4, verses 1-17.

As we finish preparing Brady for his ministry experience, we are going to look together at some good check-in questions to assess any ministry we do. Ephesians 4 will be our guide.

We will celebrate Pastor Brady service with our congregation during the service and following with cake and coffee.

On this Fifth Sunday of the month, we welcomed all of our older children to stay with us in worship. Some younger folks helped to lead us in prelude, invitation to worship, prayers of the people, and scripture reading. Families were able to share in the Lord's Supper together as well. And we welcomed Madelyn into God's family, as Brady and Shannon shared their faith and brough her for baptism. We are grateful to the Holy Spirit for pulling all these things together for our worshiping community.

This was a powerful learning experience - for our heads and our hearts. Thank you for leading us, Adrian and Cindy

What does it look like to take tangible steps toward reconciliation? Mountainview CRC in Grimsby, Ont. recently hosted a KAIROS Blanket Exercise at their church, bringing the community together for a powerful two-hour learning experience.

Developed by Indigenous elders and educators, this interactive exercise helps participants understand our shared history from an Indigenous perspective, showing why reconciliation is needed and how we can build meaningful new relationships.

Small talk at church is "bigger" than we think. What we say to children matters and what they hear us say to each other matters. What is it we want our children to hear?

Church spaces are full of small talk. It’s often in narthexes and the backs of sanctuaries, during coffee hour or community meals, that our children have their first real conversations with adults outside their families.

Mountainview hosted a Kairos Blanket Exercise on Sunday evening, led by Adrian Jacobs and Cindy Stover. We had a group of 20 folks -- from Mountainview, from Jubilee, and a few from a local Catholic church. All of us were so grateful to be there in community, learning and sharing.

Leah said this about the experience:
"We walked a journey of heartbreak with the indigenous people of Canada since the arrival of settlers on this land. Seeing the physical representation of their progressive loss of home, identity and family was difficult, eye-opening and heart-opening. I am grateful for the time spent to help us grow our understanding."

Adrian is Ganosono, Turtle Clan, Cayuga Nation, Six Nations Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Grand River Country in Southern Ontario, Turtle Island. Currently he is Senior Leader for Indigenous Justice and Reconciliation for the Christian Reformed Church. Cindy Stover serves as the Canadian Justice Mobilizer for the Christian Reformed Church.
