Mark your calendars for September 12th & 13th at the Greely Community Centre parking lot.

We are down to just 2 weeks to go to gather things up to move out electronics, old appliances, scrap metal items, to mention a few, that are of no use anymore. Empties, car batteries, milk bags too. Just think of all the space you will have for other things.

Please note though, that we do not accept hazardous waste items. Propane tanks, aerosol cans, light bulbs, etc. BUT the City of Ottawa is holding a hazardous waste drop off at the Conroy Snow Dump, 3100 Conroy Road on Sept 26th from 8am - 4pm.

Shawna’s coming back to Greely to speak again.

Wednesday, September 16th at 7:00p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 7103 Parkway Road, Greely.

Shawna Thibodeau, of Shawna’s Outreach, the first outreach person we gave milk bag mats for distribution in our own Ottawa area is a grassroots initiative in Ottawa, that brings hope to people in need to survive “one more day”. She has been helping vulnerable populations in Ottawa since 2009. She is unpaid, unfunded, unstoppable. Shawna is full of love, casts NO judgement, creates & hits the streets with outreach bags containing items to help people survive one more day. Drinks, non-perishable & individually wrapped food items, snacks, cookies, socks, travel sized toiletries, gift cards, etc. She gives what she gets. Shawna is also the co-author of “Shawna’s Outreach When we give a little, a lot gets down” a book whose primary aim is to raise awareness of the homeless crisis in Ottawa. We can all help make a difference, come and hear how.
Everyone is welcome, no donation is required to attend but items towards Shawna's Outreach, to help people get through one more day, would be greatly appreciated.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Tuesdays are for weaving!

FUN FACT: Why do we use milk bags for weaving? The benefits of milk bag mats are they are waterproof, durable, insulating by providing a barrier lifting a person off cold, damp ground, pest resistant, and long lasting as they are UV-resistant.

EVERYONE is welcome. No experience needed. All Saints Anglican Church, 7103 Parkway Road, 7:00-9:00 p.m. every Tuesday evening.

Donations of clean & dry milk bags are always welcome. Flat is also helpful but not necessary. There is a bin at the side of the church, or contact us to make other arrangements if needed. THANK YOU to everyone who has been collecting for us. PLEASE keep them coming!
