Prayer
In times of renewed activity, and in moments of quiet solace, we are open, God, to your spirit in our lives. Nurture us as we face new challenges and new opportunities. Lead us in ways that we may experience a sense of assurance for us all. Be a source of healing and hopefulness, we pray, as we move forward into new ways of being your people. We open ourselves to the One who provides light, love and peace for all within this world, Jesus the Christ. AMEN

June Reflections
I look forward to the colours of fall because I love their invigorating, inspiring, and impressive display that can lift one’s spirit.
That may seem like an odd way to move into June, but this spring I have learned of the power of colour - any colour - on the soul. After a long and tiring winter, the simple yet vibrant greens of this season help to uplift one’s spirit. As we live into the season of Pentecost, we are encouraged to look for life in all of its abundance wherever it may be found. The brilliant white of daisies and trilliums, the beautiful yellow of some tulips and even dandelions, the majestic greens of trees budding into full foliage, and lawns transforming into their summer splendour --- all are inspiring . Bright and bold colours remind us of the power of affirming life, life wherever it is found. I hope the month of June will be for you a time to affirm your life -- a life that is made special when it is lived and shared with one another.

Prayer
Help us, God, to see your presence in the everyday activities of our lives. Enthuse us for the journey ahead. Remind us of the power of your creative spirit. Inspire us through the burgeoning life that is bursting forth all around us. As the grass begins to green, and the gardens begin to blossom, may we be open to the encouragement that you give to us all. Be a source of reassurance this day, we pray. AMEN

May Reflections
A wise person once said: “Whether you are hopeful for the future, or full of despair, you are right.” Often we can predict what we will experience in times to come by the attitude we bring to the situation. Being uncertain about what we can do breeds more uncertainty.
I find that to be true this year. After months of heavy snowfall in the north, I looked forward to the diminishing snow piles. Then, as snow melted, I was trying to avoid flooding roadways. Now that the flooding has subsided in most areas, I am cognizant of the mud in my yard and along hiking trails. Just as the sun began to dry up those muddy venues, the late April rains have deluged the ground once again. When all we see is despair and uncertainty, we lose sight of opportunity and hope.
Christians continue to honour the season of Easter throughout much of May. We are invited to see new prospects for life fulfilled even in our darkest moments. Whatever we face, or wherever we are, a message of hope should not be easily dismissed.

Prayer
We often face challenges in life, God, and yet we know that we are not alone. Your Spirit lifts us up when we are feeling down. Your truth, God, guides us in all situations. We feel the energy of your presence as we open ourselves to your reality. Be a source of encouragement this day, and every day, as we are inspired by the vigor released by nature this time of year. God, help us to be a living presence of new life and renewed hope as exemplified by the plants and trees about to burst forth all around us. We pray all of this, seeking your assurance in Jesus’ name. AMEN

Prayer
In this time of transition, God, we are aware of the many needs within our world. As we embark on a new year, may we feel your presence to guide us, and your truths to inspire us. Prepare us for all that we may need to face in this coming year. Show to all of us new experiences that inspire, and new ways to be comforted, in the weeks and months ahead. Be a beacon of hope for one and all, we pray. AMEN

Reflections - January 2026
At last the New Year is here. It seems every year as December winds down we are caught in numerous year-end reviews. We are reminded of the greatest sporting events, or the 50 top bloopers. We hear once the news events deemed most influential. Sadly, too often they bring up bad memories from the past 12 months.
As January has arrived, we now are invited to look ahead. We can bring a new perspective to bear on our lives, and plan for new opportunities never imagined in the past.
It was recently reported that over 25% of the jobs that people do in the 21st century were not even known in the 1990’s. A new year always brings new opportunities and new experiences. The only question is: “Are we ready to receive them, and pursue them?”
We have the independence and self-will to pursue what we want to pursue, but we often can be pleasantly surprised when we go after new experiences that expand our vision, and enhance our opportunities.
May 2026 be an invitation to many blessings for you.
