When the Sudbury–Manitoulin Deanery Choir travelled to Little Current to help Holy Trinity Anglican Church celebrate its 140th anniversary, they brought much more than music.

What began years ago as a group gathered for the Easter Vigil has grown into a vibrant ministry that connects Anglicans across the deanery through worship, friendship, and shared service.

Archbishop Anne Germond describes the choir as "a testimony to their desire to form community and proclaim the good news of Jesus in songs of praise, hope and lament."

The photos from their recent trip tell that story beautifully. Alongside the hymns and anthems are friendships nurtured over years, parish boundaries crossed, and a living example of what it means to be the Church together.

As we celebrate Victoria Day, we thank You for the blessings of peace, freedom, and the natural beauty of our country. We are grateful for the gift of this long weekend, offering us a chance to rest from our labors, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the warmer days ahead.

We ask for Your continued guidance over our communities, and we pray for a spirit of joy, safety, and renewal as the summer season begins. May we be mindful of our neighbors, and may Your light guide us in all that we do.

Amen.

The service will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of motherhood. Today, we celebrate the loving sacrifice of mothers, both biological and spiritual, who nurture and guide us in Your ways. Bless them with joy, strength, and love to continue their selfless devotion. May they feel deeply appreciated and honoured not just today, but every day. Amen.

A historic symbol, renewed.

The Diocese of Algoma is pleased to introduce a restored rendering of its Coat of Arms, alongside a new family of logos designed to support clear and consistent communication across the life of the Diocese.

What began as a practical need—replacing a lost digital file—became an opportunity to thoughtfully renew a cherished symbol for contemporary ministry.

We are grateful to heraldic artist Quentin Peacock for his careful craftsmanship in bringing this work to life.

At Synod 2025, the Diocese of Algoma committed to revising its plan for ministry with children, youth, and families, with a renewed vision to be presented at Synod 2027. That work begins with listening.

We are now inviting input from across the Diocese through a Children, Youth & Family Ministry survey. This consultation will help us better understand the realities parishes are facing today, identify strengths already present, and shape a plan that reflects the needs and hopes of our communities.

Your input will help ensure that the next diocesan plan is grounded in real experience and shaped by voices from across Algoma.

We encourage clergy, wardens, lay leaders, parents, volunteers, youth, and parish members to take part.

Estimated time: 7–10 minutes
