Every Sunday in Rock City Kids, we learn to follow Jesus. For the next few months we are focused on learning to follow Jesus while teaching others to follow Jesus at the SAME time.

The kids and leaders have some great ideas on how to help you follow Jesus, including weekly verses, encouragement, challenges and some short movies. The kids will be answering some tough questions and we can't wait to show you everything that we have planned!

Follow us to learn to follow Jesus!

Deuteronomy 5:20 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Always tell the truth, even if the lie doesn't seem like a big deal or if you will get in trouble if you tell the truth. Always tell the truth. False testimony is lying.

Deuteronomy 5:18 “You shall not commit adultery.
Committing adultery means not keeping your actions and through pure. You should not look at things that are inappropriate , should not watch movies that aren't good for you, and act with friends in a way that distracts other people.

Deuteronomy 5:19 “You shall not steal.
Do not take things that do not belong to you. Do not steal things, even if no one will ever know about it.

Deuteronomy 5:17 “You shall not murder.

Do not murder sounds really easy doesn't it?
This commandment doesn't just mean don't murder, it also means do not hurt and hate people. Do not imagine hurting someone. If your feelings lead you to hatred then you are breaking this commandment. (JESUS talked about this in the New Testament. Can you remember where that passage is?)

Deuteronomy 5:16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Honouring and respecting your parents means listening to them and obeying. Not because they are always right or do things that you like. But because God has created parents to love and care for their children.

Our coffee ministry in the Courtyard has more hot drinks as the weather cools down. Come early to have a hot drink with friends or wait to get your drink after service.

There are NO hot drinks allowed in any Kids Ministry rooms as a safety precaution. Thanks for understanding!

Also if you compliment the coffee team they might even pour your hot chocolate for you!

God knows what is best for us, and working 24/7 for our entire lives is not best. God gives us the Sabbath day of rest fro our bodies and minds to be able to refocus on what is most important. God and our families need us to take restful time and spend it with them. SYou can spend your Sabbath going to church, lunch with your family, hanging out with people you love, reading the Bible , worshipping God and more.

Deuteronomy 5:12 “Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

Sunday October 19th
Foundations Nursery: Open
Pebbles Preschool: Open
Rock City Kids: Closed

A normal Sunday morning in Kids Ministry requires 3 staff, 4-5 adult leaders and 3-5 youth leaders to run. Pastor Julia & Brandon are taking the Youth (GR.7-12) to The Change Conference in Toronto which leaves us short that weekend. Kinder-GR.6 will be worshiping in the auditorium with their parents.

Deuteronomy 5:11 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Misusing God's name is disrespectful. Saying his name as a promise or a swear or in a sentence that isn't respectful is wrong. Just as we do not use our friends name in disrespectful ways, we want to honour and show our love to God through only using his name in instances that show respect.
