Dear Lakeland Family,
We are so thankful for you all! May the Lord bless you as you continue to seek Him daily!
On Monday, the Premier of Ontario announced that churches are again allowed to assemble starting this Friday. We are required to limit attendance to 30% of our building capacity and maintain social distancing during our meetings. Because of this announcement we are planning to begin holding services again Sunday, June 14th. I wanted to provide a few details for you regarding upcoming services.
We will be respecting and exceeding our obligations in an effort to maintain the health of our church family as well as our testimony in the community. We have consulted with our insurance company as well as other pastors for input on our re-opening.
If you are unwell, please stay home. If you are not able to come or are not comfortable with attending, our services will also be live on our YouTube channel.
We will be having our 11am service and 6pm service on Sunday. For the time being we will eliminate Wednesday prayer meeting, Sunday School, childcare, passing the offering collection basket (it will be available at the back), and our usual refreshments after our morning service.
To minimize possible contamination, we will be doing extra sanitizing throughout the building between services. Our washrooms will be available for emergency use, but we ask you to plan ahead so that you do not need to use them while in the building. Hand sanitizer will be available around the building. If you would like to wear a mask, feel free to wear one, however they are not required.
When you arrive for services, please enter and head directly to a seat for the service. By staying in our seat during the whole service it makes it easy to maintain social distancing. We have rearranged our seating to maintain distancing between households. The seats are distanced enough for health, but not so much that we cannot converse. We welcome the opportunity to interact with you all once again!
To facilitate preparation times and considering capacity limits, we will open the doors 15 minutes prior to services beginning. We do not expect more people to attend than we can accommodate, but it would be first come, first served for seating. Prompt arrival will help ensure priority seating.
Lastly, as of today there are currently zero confirmed cases of COVID 19 active in Muskoka. I believe we can attend church services together without fear of placing ourselves in any significant risk. We are implementing these procedures not out of fear of getting sick, but for the sake of righteousness, consideration of others, and a good testimony.
His servant and yours,
Pastor Paul Gibbesh
