Hebrews 12:22-24,28,29

22 You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the Heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in Heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better Word than the blood of Abel.

28 Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Message From God’s Word

Last week we looked at the blood covenant God made with Abram, a covenant accomplished and fulfilled in our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for sin. He took all sin, made it His own, and removed it. He established a new and complete covenant that only has one stipulation: individuals must confess with their mouths that Jesus is their Lord, and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead. [see Romans 10:9]. Today, we celebrate Communion. So, as our Call To Worship instructs, “let us be grateful for receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” [Hebrews 12:28,29] Be blessed. Be encouraged. Be challenged.

Message From God’s Word



The Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, & Luke each include Jesus’ “Parable Of The Sower”, an analogy of God spreading His Word throughout creation, and the results to follow. From it, it’s becomes quite obvious that God desire is very much “whosoever will may come”. He does not discriminate about where His Word lands. He wants everyone to hear and be saved. But alas! Unfortunately, some will choose not to be, which saddens our Heavenly Father greatly. But, might there be some responsibility for “Crop Care” in the more receptive hearts? We explore that question from the perspective of Hebrews 5:11-6:12. Be blessed. Be encouraged. Be challenged.

1 Yahweh is my light and my salvation —
whom shall I fear? Yahweh
is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When evil men advance against me to devour my
flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. 3 Even
if armies besiege me, my heart will not fear.
If war were to break out against me, even then will I be confident.

4 One thing I ask of
the Lord, this is what I earnestly
desire: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek an audience with Him
in the protection of +His sanctuary. 5 For in the day of trouble He will keep
me safe in His lair; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set
me high upon a rock. 6 Then my head will be exalted above the
enemies who surround me; at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to Yahweh.
Message From God’s Word

The
letter to the Hebrews was a letter of encouragement to a people scattered over
3 continents, facing persecution from every side. Drawing from their rich history, the writer
reminds their readers that, though the Israelites had heard the good news of promise,
they had a tendency to not combine it with faith, and take God at His Word. In short, the challenge is “Grab On And Hold On”. Be blessed.

up the Israelites of old as an example of what not to do. “Forget, Neglect, Regret” seeks to

wise man once told me, “Good enough is never good enough.” Scriptures tell us that Jesus never declared
anything “Good Enough” until He had been resurrected, bodily ascended,
and took up His rightful place at God the Heavenly Father’s right hand. His mission was not finished to His
satisfaction until He had freed all those who’d been held as
the devil’s slaves all their life by their fear of death.
So, what would be an appropriate response to a Saviour who gave His all? Be blessed.

We’ve
all heard the saying, “No ifs, ands or buts”. Truth be told, most every one of us who is a parent
has probably even said it a time or two to our children, good bad, or otherwise. It means, “No excuses!” Well, the Bible uses other words to convey a
similar sentiment. “By, Through, And For” describes
Jesus’ connection in Creation, like no other.
In fact, it points to Jesus and tells us there is no other but Him. Be blessed.

1 Chronicles 29:10-13

“10 Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to
everlasting. 11 Yours,
O Lord, is the greatness and the
power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in Heaven
and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; You are exalted as
head over all. 12 Wealth
and honour come from You; You are the ruler of all things. In Your hands are strength and power to exalt
and give strength to all. 13 Now,
our God, we give You thanks, and
praise Your glorious name.”

David, from young on, “was a man after God’s own heart”. He sought God. He worshipped with all his might, even when
some thought it to be beneath the king to do so. And though God had told him he couldn’t actually
build the Temple, King David sacrificially gave his own resources to secure
materials so that Solomon could put it together. When all was gathered, David worshipped. “Now, our God, we give You thanks, and praise Your
glorious name.”

is another Elementary School Language Arts lesson that comes to light in
Hebrews. It is a power-filled one that
meant everything for a people that was persecuted on all sides. It has to do with the conjunction “but” in Hebrews 1:2. “Many Times, Various Ways, But Just 1 Son” is still all
