A new children's book in memory of Rev. Alison Etter, who was our minister until her untimely death on Valentine's Day of this year. The book is called "You Are Loved". It is written by Alison's husband, Tom Urbaniak, and illustrated by Tammy Krasniqi. It will be launched at Cape Breton University's Beaton Institute on Tuesday, December 17, at 12:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome; complimentary light lunch. The book costs $19,95 and the royalties are going the Rev. Alison Etter Memorial Fund at the Atlantic School of Theology to support in-community projects that carry on Alison's vision of a more caring society. The book is addressed to Alison's and Tom's young son, with a broader message about the power of love as a force for good in the world. The text is in the four languages that Alison used in her ministry and service to the community: English, French, Gaelic, and Polish.

Our New Aberdeen Neighbourhood Summer Festival, held here at Warden, continued this afternoon. Great turnout! Wonderful sense of community! Lots of free activities. This year’s festival was dedicated to the memory of Rev Alison Etter, such a positive community leader who sadly passed away on Valentine’s Day at just 41 years of age. The festival is now over but stay tuned for more activities at Warden. We serve as a welcoming community hub for everyone.
