One of the hardest things about truth is that it rarely arrives with a label attached.

Sometimes people speak truth and are dismissed as troublemakers.

Sometimes people make false accusations and call it truth.

That’s why discernment matters.

The prophets challenged kings, religious leaders, and entire communities. Many were ridiculed, rejected, or silenced, not because they were rebellious, but because truth has a way of exposing what others would rather keep hidden.

The real question isn’t:

“Whose side am I on?”

The real question is:

“What is true?”

Because people who benefit from silence may call truth rebellion.

And people who are hurting may mistake their pain for truth.

Our task is not simply to react.

It is to listen, discern, and have the courage to follow the truth wherever it leads.

The Bible emerged from cultures that were deeply patriarchal. Yet despite those cultural realities, women repeatedly appear in positions of influence, leadership, wisdom, prophecy, and ministry.

Their contributions were significant enough that the biblical writers could not tell God’s story without them.

* Deborah — Judge and leader

* Miriam — Prophet

* Huldah — Prophet consulted by kings and priests

* Abigail — Wise counselor

* Rahab — Strategic protector

* Esther — Intercessor and political advocate

* Anna — Prophet

* Priscilla — Teacher

* Phoebe — Deacon/minister

* Junia — Apostle

* Lydia — Church patron and leader

* Mary Magdalene — First witness and herald of the resurrection

Tell me again why women can’t do Gods work?

Life doesn’t always come with a roadmap.

Sometimes we’re making decisions while exhausted, grieving, uncertain, or carrying far more than anyone realizes.

I’ve learned that moving forward rarely happens in one brave leap. More often, it’s a series of small choices made one day at a time.

Maybe that’s where courage actually lives, not in having everything figured out, but in taking the next step anyway.

This week, let’s make sense of starting over.

People see a fresh start.

They don’t always see the boxes, the paperwork, the exhaustion, the adjustments, the cost, or the quiet courage it takes to keep going.

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that we often rush to encourage people when what they really need is understanding.

We say, “You’ve got this.”

We say, “Everything happens for a reason.”

We say, “Look on the bright side.”

And those words come from a place of love.

But sometimes what a person needs most is someone willing to sit beside them and say: “This is hard.” Because it is.

Change can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. Every transition asks something of us. It requires energy, decisions, adaptation, and letting go of what was familiar.

For people living with ADHD, anxiety, grief, trauma, or other forms of neurodivergence, that load can feel even heavier. What looks like a simple change from the outside may feel like a hundred moving pieces inside the mind. And there maybe a hundred physical things they have to do as well.

Helping people understand themselves, others, and life begins with curiosity.

Before offering advice, we can ask: “What might they be carrying that I can’t see?”

Sometimes understanding is more healing than encouragement.

Sometimes presence is more powerful than solutions.

And sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is simply reminding someone: “You don’t have to carry it alone.”

Go with God… and always stay spicy.

Sometimes the thing we miss isn't what was. It's what it meant to us.

My newest reflection explores why looking back can be both beautiful and dangerous.
