"“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” Here is the summation of a perfect man or perfect woman. He is able to control his tongue and not sin with his tongue. Because the tongue is the most difficult member of our body to control and bring into subjection, if a person is able to control his tongue, he is able to control every other aspect of his life. The tongue is the gauge of spiritual maturity and perfection. Our tongue reveals how much of the nature of Christ we have."

"Perhaps you are experiencing a time of revival in your own personal life or in your ministry. Do not forget that revival is not an end; it is only a means to an end—Christ. Keep pressing on until you win Christ! Perhaps you have even gone within the veil and experienced the manifest presence of God and know the Lord intimately. Even now, this is not the end of your journey. You must take the glory of God to the nations of the earth. If you are already doing this, you still have not reached the end of your journey, even as Paul said in Philippians 3:12-13, “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” You must continue pressing on in your own personal life to know Christ more intimately each and every day! The key to moving on with God is to always say “yes” to Him when He deals with issues in your life."

"What Esau lost in exchange for his bowl of stew had eternal consequences. Later on in his life, Esau cried and tried to repent, but it was too late (Hebrews 12:17). It is truly a tragic story. What about us? We would never be that stupid, or would we? Think about this: Anytime we put aside the eternal plans God has for us in order to pursue what we want right here and now, we are behaving like Esau. Most people go through life living just like that. Everything they do is based on the idea of squeezing every bit of enjoyment they can out of this short life."

"The Scriptures prove that trials are for the purpose of purifying the saint – the wise shall understand this! I have singled out ten trials in the book of Daniel that I believe will help us to appreciate the benefit of a trial. They will also help us (by God’s grace) to endure the test that is coming to try the whole earth. If we are not faithful in the smaller trials then we surely will not stand in the great trial. As the prophet Jeremiah once said: “If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?” (Jer. 12:5) God does not give Job-size trials to the new convert. God carefully monitors a trial. As the prophet Malachi said, He sits as a refiner of silver, carefully monitoring the heat and the purifying of the metal. As soon as the refiner sees his reflection in the silver, the silver is removed from the heat."

I'm posting this because I know my sister's talents are a beautiful gift from God, our Master Gardener. Daily she gives Him credit for the creativity He shows her and His beauty never ceases to amaze us here The Captured Garden. Praise the Lord with us and soak in the natural wonders around you. (Psalm 96:11-12)

I love it when the gardens I design in my head become reality. As I was sketching this one out I envisioned how the foliage of astilbe 'Delft Lace' would complement the Cafe Noir tulip. The peach tulips are just icing on the cake.

If your landscape could use a new vision I'd love to have a chat, https://thecapturedgarden.com/services/garden-design/
