The Soup Kitchen will be closed Friday May 26th to allow everyone to participate in the community BBQ.

Grill, Gather & Grow with us at our Sexual Violence Awareness Month Community BBQ on May 29th at Kiyām Community Park from 10am-2pm!

We are pleased to welcome community organizations who will be onsite with information booths, sharing programs, services, resources, and opportunities to connect with supports available throughout our region.

Community agencies joining us include:

• The Hub Family Resource Centre
• Wood Buffalo Wellness Society - Tawâw/Community Services
• Lifemark Vocational Services
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo
• YMCA of Northern Alberta - Wood Buffalo
• North East Alberta FASD Network Neafan
• Some Other Solutions
• JSYF (JUSTIN SLADE YOUTH FOUNDATION)
• The Centre of Hope Fort McMurray
• Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo

The event begins with an Elder’s prayer at 10:00 AM, followed by free food served at 11:00 AM.

Thank you for your visit and your ongoing support.

On Thursday, April 23, our Board had the opportunity to visit the NorthLife Soup Kitchen and see their incredible work firsthand.
Located at 141 Alberta Drive, the Soup Kitchen serves 35 to 50 patrons each day, Monday through Friday, providing more than just meals, but connection and care for those experiencing food insecurity and social isolation.
We were impressed by how clean, organized, and welcoming the space was, with resources clearly labeled and easy for both new and returning volunteers to access.
Our investment in this vital program, made possible through WBCF with support from the John Wilson Family Fund and the Little Family Fund, is projected to help provide more than 12,000 meals this year, averaging 56 meals per day, while supporting the completion of more than 1,700 volunteer shifts.
This is community care in action!
