Your are being invited to join a growing movement of a new/old educational approach that returns us to our Lutheran roots in the Reformation and to the time of the establishment of Confessional Lutheranism in North America. Luther Classical College, Casper, Wyoming is founded on this approach and is gaining support around the continent. Luther Classical College is addressing the needs of a failing education system in our country and also helps families and churches flourish. The college…
- Immerses students in the Scriptures and the founding documents of the Lutheran Church.
- Immerses students in the best of Western culture.
- Has tracks for students in a variety of fields: the trades, teaching, music and pre-seminary.
- Has a campus culture that nourishes life-long friendships, forms the faith in students and builds up godly mothers and fathers.
- Is committed to low annual tuition ($8,500 per year)
- Takes no government money and so is fiercely independent and strong.
Come and hear this fascinating presentation about a movement and new college that is seeking to address our collapsing culture and shrinking church with the best of Western Culture and an immersion in Scripture and the Lutheran faith. At St. John’s Lutheran Church – Snyder. Sunday, August 18th, right after the Divine Service. A potluck meal will accompany the presentation. You are welcome to bring something to share.
The president of the Luther Classical College, Rev Dr. Harold Ristau, will discuss the problems in public education today, and renewed interest in classic forms of education. His presentation is entitled “Wokeism and the demise of education: how Luther Classical College is a solution”. He will introduce his new college and discuss how it is an alternative to much that is wrong in secondary education today. Considering our youth are the leaders of the future, ensuring that they remain solidly Lutheran and critically minded is essential to the survival and mission of our synods, and life within the three estates.
The college is breaking ground this Summer on the new campus on a beautiful tract of land at the foot of Casper Mountain in Wyoming.

For centuries, education in Western civilization took place in Latin. The great works of our culture and theology are in this language. In recent decades we have seen a steady move away from our classical education, and the abandonment of the great works and ideas that originally formed the society we know. This is having a very negative impact on the formation of the minds of our youth. The deterioration of our society is increasingly evident.

Our congregation offers free classes in Latin and classical studies. We focus primarily on Latin grammar, and as students progress we begin to explore important Latin works of our theology and culture.

Our primary focus is on children, but adults are also welcome. The classes are open to everyone. They are free and will remain free. Our goal is to offer knowledge in a way that is accessible to everyone and not to make money.

If you are interested, for yourself or for your children, grandchildren, etc., please contact our pastor. Also feel free to spread the word to your neighbours, friends, etc.
