This Sunday, we begin an important transition.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been walking through the book of Acts and seeing how Jesus continued his work through his apostles, by the power of the Spirit. Now, we’re turning our attention toward one of the major figures Acts introduces us to: Paul.

Before we begin exploring Paul’s letters, we’re going to step back and look at his life, his journeys, his mission, and the churches he helped strengthen along the way. Understanding where Paul went, what he faced, and who he was writing to will help us hear his letters with fresh clarity.

Join us this Sunday as we look at THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF PAUL and get ready to better understand the letters that have shaped followers of Jesus for nearly 2,000 years.

Everyone is welcome.

This Sunday at Glad Tidings, we’re wrapping up our time in the book of Acts with a message called “The Kingdom Built Through Sacrifice.”

From the beginning, God’s Kingdom has been different from the kingdoms of this world. It is not built through domination, violence, or force, but through faithful witnesses who follow Jesus in self-giving love — even when it costs them.

As we remember the first-century martyrs, we’ll reflect on why they were willing to suffer for Jesus, and what their example still teaches us today.

Whether you’ve been coming for years, haven’t been in a while, or are thinking about visiting for the first time, you are welcome!

This Sunday at Glad Tidings: The Lawful Revolution

The apostles were accused of turning the world upside down — and in a sense, they were.

But their revolution did not come through violence, rebellion, or revenge. They challenged the powers of their day by arguing from Scripture, bearing witness to Jesus, respecting due process when possible, using their legal rights, and accepting suffering rather than retaliating.

This Sunday, we’ll look at how the early followers of Jesus led a movement that changed Israel, opened the kingdom of God to all people, and showed us a better way to confront the world: with truth, courage, peace, and faithfulness.

Come early between 10:00–11:00am for Coffee Connection — a relaxed time to grab a coffee, talk, and connect before the service.

How does Jesus take over the world?

That might sound like a strange question. Maybe even a dangerous one.

But in the book of Acts, the answer is surprising: not through violence, coercion, or political power, but through witness, suffering, mercy, miracles, and transformed lives.

This Sunday, we’ll look at the story of Paul — once an enemy of the church, later one of its greatest messengers — and how his life shows the upside-down power of God’s Kingdom.

We’ll also hear a special radio play created by some of our teens, telling the story of Paul and Silas in prison from Acts 16.

Join us for this Sunday’s message:

This Sunday at Glad Tidings: "The Kingdom Mission Begins"

Before Paul’s missionary journeys, before the gospel reached the wider world, Jesus sent his apostles out as witnesses — beginning in Jerusalem and moving outward by the power of the Spirit.

Together, we’ll look at the big story of Acts 1–11 and see how the mission of God’s kingdom began to move into the world.

Join us in person if you’re nearby — we’d love to welcome you.

Today is Ascension Day.

Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven. But the ascension was not simply Jesus “going away.” It was Jesus being exalted.

In the vision of the prophet Daniel, we read: “One like a Son of Man was coming… and to him was given dominion, glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and men of every language might serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away.” (Daniel 7:13–14)

Ascension Day reminds us that Jesus was made king over all.

The risen Messiah has received authority, power, and an eternal kingdom from God. That means history is not meaningless. Evil does not win. Fear does not have the final word. Jesus is Lord.

And if Jesus truly reigns, then we do not have to live in panic, despair, or hopelessness. We can live with courage. We can forgive. We can love our neighbors. We can remain faithful even when life feels uncertain. We can work for good in the world knowing that Jesus' kingdom endures!
