Some of the most famous passages about Jesus are often read as saying one thing: Jesus is literally God. But what if we’ve been missing the extraordinary story they’re actually telling?

Philippians 2 describes a Jesus who humbles himself, becomes obedient to death—and therefore God highly exalts him, giving him the name above every name.

Colossians 1 calls Jesus the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, the head of the church, and the firstborn from the dead.

These aren’t descriptions of a lesser Jesus. They present an astonishingly high view of Jesus: the faithful human Messiah who perfectly reveals God, conquers death, and is elevated by God to the highest place of authority over His creation.

This Sunday, we’re taking a fresh look at two passages often used to argue that Jesus is God—and asking whether they may actually be telling us something different, and every bit as breathtaking: Jesus is THE MAN GOD EXALTED.

Tomorrow at Glad Tidings, we’re talking about a battle that is happening all around us—and often within us.

Paul writes, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood.” (Ephesians 6:12, NASB). So what exactly are we fighting? And how does Scripture teach Christians to stand firm without becoming consumed by fear, anger, hatred, or division?

Join us tomorrow for: HOW TO WIN THE HEAVENLY BATTLE

We’ll explore what Paul meant by the “powers,” the “heavenly places,” and the armour of God—and discover why truth, righteousness, peace, faith, the gospel, and prayer are at the heart of Christian spiritual warfare.

Tomorrow at 11 AM, join us at Glad Tidings Church of God as we continue exploring Paul’s letter to the Galatians with a message called JERUSALEM ABOVE.

What did Paul mean when he contrasted the “present Jerusalem” with the “Jerusalem above”? And what does that tell us about where our identity, belonging, and hope are really found?

We’ll also be sharing Communion together as we remember the Messiah who has made us part of God’s family and heirs of his promise.

WHO BELONGS?

Every community has ways of deciding who is “one of us.” But what happens when we carry those boundaries into the family of God?

This Sunday, we’re beginning a two-part journey through Galatians. We’ll explore the controversy that prompted Paul’s letter and discover why the question of who belongs became a matter of the gospel itself.

“And if you belong to [Jesus], then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.” (Galatians 3:29, NASB).

Join us Sunday at 11 AM.

What does Christian freedom actually mean?

If we are no longer under the Law, does that mean God’s Law no longer matters? If there is no condemnation for those who are in Messiah, what place does obedience have in the Christian life?

This Sunday, as we continue our journey through the New Testament, we’ll explore how Jesus and the Apostles understood God’s Law—and discover that grace doesn’t free us *from* obedience, but frees us *to* obey.

We’ll then bring that question right into the life of the church: How should Christians think about giving? Are we commanded to tithe? And what can the biblical and apostolic models teach us about generously supporting the work we share together?

Join us this Sunday as we continue our journey through the New Testament with a message from 2 Corinthians 3 entitled: THE MESSIAH REVEALED.

Did Jesus come to replace the Law—or to reveal where it had been leading all along? The apostle Paul says, "the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." What did he mean? Was he rejecting the Torah, or showing how God's promises to Israel reach their fulfillment in the Messiah?

Together we'll explore how the ministry of Moses points beyond itself to Jesus, why the veil is removed in Messiah, and how God's Spirit transforms ordinary people from the inside out.

What comes after death? What does the resurrection of Jesus mean for us now?

This Sunday, we’ll explore Paul’s powerful words in 1 Corinthians 15 and discover why death does not have the final word. Because Messiah has been raised, we have the promise of resurrection life—and the assurance that what God is building will never be destroyed.

Come early and join us for Coffee Connection from 10–11 AM. Enjoy some coffee, refreshments, and time connecting with others before the service begins.
