Thanksgiving is approaching. A great way to honour all of our blessings is to give to those in need. We’re inviting you to pick up a few extra items for the Food Bank while shopping this week. Feel free to drop items in the basket in the sanctuary or deliver them directly to the Food Bank. Happy Thanksgiving!

This past Sunday, Melville United Church came together with our friends at Hope Springs United Church under the banner of the UP Team. "United in Purpose," this team of two churches raised awareness and funds, hope and spirits as we walked, ran, biked and triked the annual Terry Fox Run.
We travelled together along the Elora Cataract Trail under blue skies, breathing in the crisp morning air, thinking of those whose cancer journeys might have intercepted some of the research supported by the Terry Fox Foundation.
Did you know that to-date the Foundation has raised over $1B in funding for cancer research? Yes, B as in billion. This is the power of our collective energies. Like the tiniest of mustard seeds, hope has spread from those first steps taken so many years ago. Step by step, year after year, communities around the world have set out with a similar sense of hope and promise, inspired by the legacy of one Canadian teenager to end cancer.
"Truly I tell you," the kingdom of God is like this. Together, we can accomplish so much more than we ever could alone.
