Ascent Church Ascent Church meets Sundays at 10:00am for our main service. Antioch is a church with a passion to see God made famous throughout Essex, Canada, and the world.

We believe God is still moving today and His heart is to see lives transformed with His love and power. We are a vibrant church with contemporary worship, relevant messages and a community of people who love others.

The world constantly tells us that our value is tied to what we accomplish, earn, build, or produce. But Jesus tells a different story.

Before you achieve anything, before you prove anything, before you get it all together—you are already loved. Deeply loved. Fully known. Completely seen. Your worth is not something you earn through performance; it's something you receive through grace.

In a culture driven by productivity, Sabbath reminds us that we are children of God before we are workers. We don’t rest because we’ve earned it. We rest because we belong to God.

Question for this week:
If your productivity was taken away, would you still believe you are deeply loved?

Sometimes the heaviest burdens in life aren’t the big crises—they’re the small things we carry day after day without rest.

A manageable load can become overwhelming when we keep pushing at an unhealthy pace. The problem isn’t always what we’re carrying. Sometimes it’s how fast we’re trying to carry it. God never designed us to live in a constant state of hurry, pressure, and exhaustion.

Sabbath reminds us that we are human BEINGS, not human DOINGS. It's an invitation to slow down, trust God, and rediscover the life-giving rhythm He created for us.

Question for this week:
What is the pace of your life producing in your soul?

If you're feeling overloaded, take a step back and see if there are any thoughts you're entertaining that are shaping how you feel. Remind yourself how God feels about you: He loves you, He desires you, He wants to walk with you! Let those thoughts shape your beliefs.

The church was never meant to be a place where people pretend they’re okay.
It should be the place where exhausted people find rest, anxious people find peace, and broken stories begin to be rewritten.

In a world constantly telling people to do more, achieve more, and prove themselves, Jesus still says, “Come to Me, and I will give you rest.”

Some people walk through church doors carrying shame, pressure, fear, anxiety, and lies they’ve believed for years. But the Gospel has always been about rewritten stories.

My prayer is that Ascent would always be a place where people encounter Jesus, find hope again, and discover they are deeply loved by God.

Sometimes the greatest miracle is not just a changed circumstance -
it’s a changed story.
