Prayers for Ukraine rang ’round the world on 24 August, from large ecumenical services to quiet reflections, all expressing solidarity and determination for justice and peace. The day also marked the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

Did you know financial support is available to help make recreation more accessible? Leisure Assist is a subsidy program for eligible Town of Edson and Yellowhead County residents that helps cover the cost of activities like:
🏊 Swimming lessons
💪 Fitness classes
🎨 Programs & camps
⛸ Leisure Centre swim & skate passes
…and so much more!

✅ Up to $150 per individual
✅ Up to $450 per household

If finances are a barrier to participation for your household, we encourage you to explore the program and apply.

During our Lunch and Learns, Survivors, educators, and experts will guide you through a new subject, bettering your understanding of Canadian history and how we can move towards reconciliation.

Join us on September 21st for Protecting Survivor Truths: Holding and Preserving Indigenous Lived Experience.

Holding the evidence of colonial harm is a sacred responsibility. Join us to learn more about how the NCTR, Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre and the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada continue to protect Survivor truths.

All programming is available in English, French, and ASL.
