God calls us to be his faithful companions!

On August 16, 2025, Sister Michelle Langlois made her perpetual profession of the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience with the Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus. It was a beautiful celebration that was integrated into the 5PM mass celebrated by Bishop William McGrattan at St. Mary’s Cathedral which meant that members of the public were able to witness this key moment in the life of Sister Michelle as a Woman Religious.

We pray for Michelle Langlois as she finishes her last term of theological studies at Boston College and we pray for an increase of vocations to the FCJ Vocations Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus.

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Presentation and World Day for Consecrated Life. Let us foster a culture of vocation.

Read about the "resurrected" Vocations Awareness Committee published on the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton's website.

📣 In this Jubilee Year of Hope and in celebration of the upcoming World Day for Consecrated Life, the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton is delighted to announce the launch of the new VOCATIONS AWARENESS COMMITTEE!

This renewed initiative hopes to build a CULTURE OF VOCATIONS, so that each of us may recognize and respond to God’s call in our lives. As committee member Sr. Mary Clare Stack, U.J., reminds us: “Each one of us is a disciple of Jesus who hears a call to live out the Gospel in a particular way.”

Sr. Mary Clare is part of the spiritual care team at Catholic Social Services.

This committee comprises men and women from seven different congregations and a member of the Madonna House Apostolate. To learn more about this new committee and their work, please read this article: https://caedm.ca/new-committee-hopes-to-build-culture-of-vocations/

Let us pray that more women and men discern and embrace their vocations in service of Christ and His Church!
