Being slow to anger doesn't mean pretending we're never frustrated. It means learning to respond with patience and understanding rather than letting anger lead us.

Where might God be calling you to slow down this week?

How to Respond Wisely to Anger | Proverbs 14:29

Anger can tell us something matters. But it doesn't always tell us how to respond wisely.

Proverbs reminds us that patience and understanding belong together. Before reacting, consider what your feelings are revealing—and what God's Word is teaching.

Save this for a moment when you need to slow down.

Our emotions can tell us something important about what is happening in our hearts. But should they always determine what we do next?

Biblical wisdom invites us to examine our feelings in light of God's truth rather than simply following them.

Being slow to anger is different from never feeling angry. Proverbs 14:29 calls us to emotional wisdom. Jesus shows us how to feel deeply without sin, and his finished work gives us a foundation when our feelings are unsettled.

Your work doesn't make you God's workmanship. In Christ, you already are. And from that identity, God calls us into the good works he has prepared for us to walk in.

What good work has God placed in front of you today?

What does the Bible say about work, purpose and identity?

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that our value is not rooted in productivity. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Our work matters—but it doesn’t define us. In Christ, our identity comes first, and faithful work flows from there.

Ephesians 2:10

Work itself isn't the curse. Before sin entered the world, God placed Adam in the garden to work and care for it. The fall didn't create work—it brought frustration and toil into something God had already made good.

Scripture gives us a richer picture of work than simply “work harder.” Proverbs commends diligence without making productivity or wealth ultimate. Genesis shows work as a good gift, and Ephesians reminds us that good work flows from our identity in Christ.

Laziness rarely announces itself. Proverbs pictures a neglected field where small choices pile up until the damage becomes obvious. Wisdom calls us to faithful diligence in the ordinary things in front of us.
